I saw a friend with one of these, and it seemed too nerdy not to have. It helps me remember to drink enough if the water bottle is in front of me, a definite plus on hot summer days. It does start conversations with other cyclists who are stuck with unadorned aerobars.
Also, in the event of a severe crash resulting in a pneumothorax, the stiff drinking straw sticking up will likely have penetrated my torso and already be functioning as a chest tube to drain the pleural space, saving valuable ER time.
Installs easliy. Bottle removes from holder for cleaning smoothly. Straw is adjustable for whatever lenghth you need. Water seeps out of opening a little. But if you don't fill quite all the way, it's no issue.
3 of my freinds have now ordered same bottle for their bikes.
My unit looks a little different than the pic. I think the pic is of the larger capacity unit, but still cool. Good placement. Make certain you stuff the yellow mesh into the bottle to eliminate water slosh.
I compete in several triathlons each summer so I bought this bottle to improve my efficiency. It allows me to stay on the aerobars and hydrate and take in nutrition simultaneously. Make sure to stuff the yellow plastic piece in the top of the bottle otherwise the contents tend to bounce out on you and your bike when riding. Overall a good purchase for the purpose of staying in the areo position.
Compared to the 50 plus dollar plus frame cage systems, this is an excellent value for convenient hydration.
The large top and clear bottle make it easy to maintain.
Over all great bottle and simple solution.
