Racy, comfortable saddle, but......

I bought the 132mm width version over 2 yrs ago of this and figured I have enough use on it now to offer my thoughts. Initially I loved it. It's shape is similar to a couple other popular saddles and I had never owned PRO saddles prior.....so decided to give er a try as dimensions looked good for me. I'm 180lbs, just over 6' tall and ride pretty competitively. The saddle has a descent amount of rail length for adjustment, is lightweight, and the shell has a bit of give in the center area which I like. The contour on the rear and the narrower mid-section (Compared to some 143mm saddles) doesn't cause pain or leg numbness like I've experienced with other saddles in that 135-142mm range. So I love the shape and overall design.

Where I dock some points on this saddle is how the shell attaches to the rails. After about 3-4 mths use, I started noticing this a rattle sound would occur when I stood up on the bike. The rattling/vibrating is coming from the shell rattling on the rails. Particularly in the nose area. You can also notice it by tapping the top of saddle. It's not much movement, but it's irritating when riding in a group or with someone and your standing up climbing and saddle is making noises. I've also owned a couple Stealth Curved saddles and every one of those saddles also has similar issues. I may try to resolve it on my own but either way, it shouldn't be occurring IMO. Otherwise, it's a nice performance saddle that fits me well and can ride for several hrs.

Not a Specialized.

I got this seat to replace my Specialized Romin saddle, which I love, but I have broken the rails on three different seats over the span of about 4 years - broken where they connect each time, not the rail itself. Anyway, I got the PRO Turnix because it was the closest shape and size to it. It is very close indeed, just not in comfort. The sides of the seat are a hard plastic that sticks out and rubs on your inner thigh to the point I just ordered a new Romin so I never have to use the Turnix again. I'll just budget to buy a new Romin every other year. The construction of the Turnix seems fine and maybe for some it works for them.
