I'm using it for commuting on a fixie but it would be fine for training
I have used this tire for several years. It rolls and grips well and I am generally satisfied i bought them (green) originally to match my bike colors, but have stayed with them. My only complaint (and several others have had the same) is that the weak point is the sidewall. The tires seem to survive through a normal amount of wear, but I have had several sidewall fails that seemed inexplicable under the circumstances. Its been a year or two since I have had such an issue and possibly Michelin has addressed the problem.
I ride quality miles not quantity , ether pace lines hills or descending even a 65 race when offered .
Not a hard , heavy high mileage tire , but predictable in keeping contact with the pavement wet or dry .
No trouble removing if done properly - start removing first at the stem & ending installing at the stem ....
Almost as good as the Conti 4000! You can get these for a little less money. Speed is Great, durability is Good, traction is Good.
I have been using this tire for many years and so far I haven't had a reason to go away from them. The are durable and handle well. For what it's worth, I've been training for and competing in triathlon for over 20 years.
Great value.
These are really smooth rolling and comfortable tires, and grip extremely well on our wet, soggy, slimy PNW roads. I got these for training in the ever-so-popular size 25 mm with, and my harsh wheels with aluminum alloy spokes are now rather comfortable! Who knew?! No flats as of the writing of this missive. I should buy more as these are a wicked-good deal.
I have been riding this tire through 3 sets. Great ride, grips well but doesnt last long. Sidewalls crack after 2000 mi. After one month, one of the tires I ordered was defective with a gooey breakdown of the sidewall. Bike tiresdirect replaced it no questions asked.
Lightweight, fast rolling tire with good road feel and traction. Better sidewall durability than Conti. Wear life is reasonable for a light, fast tire. They're not the ultimate low rolling resistance tire, but the combination of wear life, rolling resistance and price can't be beat.
I really have enjoyed the quality of these tires. They are light weight and very durable all-around tires for every surface.
Very good overall tire for the Pittsburgh Roads
Very pleased with the ride and comfort and durability of the pro 4 michelin tires.
I have a Tarmac, a Venge, and a roubaix. All three utilize these tires. They are comfortable and sporty. Depending on the bike of the day
I ride 2 to 3 times a week for 40 to 55 miles each ride. Ride on country and city roads, flats and steep hill. I've found these tires provide an excellent balance of speed low rolling resistance, grip and puncture resistance. So you can ride aggressively without a lot of flats. Red sidewalls are a bonus. -)
what can one say - in order of priority
1. good grip in corners
2. little resistance
3. last (very) long
4. comfortable
Reliable durable tire. This is my second set of these, very happy
I ride on fairly rough roads and this tire lasts a long time! I ride 7000 miles a year going through 2 sets of ties. I might see 1 flat every 2 years. Hard to beet that
This is only the 3rd set of tires Ive owned but Im very happy with how they perform. More confidence in cornering now they grip great. Love the road noise they give off when cornering downhill.
I run them on all 3 of my bikes. They are sticky and durable. They arent as durable as some, out make up for it with handling
These tyres roll really well but don't have tread that is so soft it gets chunks ripped out of it on every stone.
Light weight and when mounted on wider rims have nice round profile.
Best of all they sound fast when rolling along the tarmac!
