One thing to be careful of when you order is tire size. I put these on a Lynskey Cooper cross bike that I had been running Maxxis Rambler 700x38 tires. The Mavic 700x40 does not fit on the rear of my frame... it rubs the chainstays. So for now I will run one of the Mavic 40s on front and the Maxxis 38 on the rear. I can't find the spec on my bike so I am not sure if 38 is just the max tire size it will take or if the Mavic 40 is just large for a 40.
I bought these with the Mavic 700 X 40 tires to train and ride the 2019 Dirty Kanza 200 on my 2019 Specialized Diverge - they were flawless. No punctures during the DK 200!!! The tires are very easy to mount. Please note that the tires are marked on the sidewall on which direction to mount the front and rear tire The front goes one direction while the rear goes the other!
I have had zero issues with this wheel set and tires. Have logged about 1200 training miles and 201 DK miles. After DK, I mounted 700X30 Mavic All Road tires and regularly ride these on the road!
Mavic Customer Service is the best too!
Mavic product quality is quite evident in this wheelset, making it a great value. A solid wheelset for your next gravel road adventure.
I recently purchased these and even though they came with 40mm Yksion Allroad tires installed I wanted to test out Mavic's UST tubeless. I removed one tire completely and reinstalled it. Seated within seconds using a simple floor pump. As soon as pressure got near 20 psi the tire popped into the beads. Easy as that. I deflated, added sealant, reinflated and it held air perfectly. Hubs are smooth, build quality seems strong, and although not the lightest wheels out there I dropped a full pound and a half off my gravel bike by replacing wheels, cassette and rotors.
