I'm new to road bikes and this is the light that was recommended to me. It is easy to mount and dismount and charging is simple and sure. There is an indicator light to tell you how much charge is left and the USB connection is easily accessed. I got about 2 hours at full brightness then my light began to flash so I changed it to low and had another half hour until it started flashing again. It feels tough and has performed well after three weeks of daily use. I'd buy it again.
Bought this for my girlfriend (we have 2 other lights from this company) and she loves it. We are every day cyclists so sturdiness matters. The USB charging option is very convenient as are the brightness settings. Get one!
Light and Motion has stayed ahead of the curve in bike light technology. This light is a single, lightweight, USB rechargeable unit that is ideal for commuting or fun rides in the dark.
The optics are great, with good intensity in the center without hotspots, and an effective spread of the beam.
The charge will last at least an hour at high power (good for very dark conditions) and considerably longer at lower settings.
The mount is stable and convenient, and the unit is impervious to heavy rain.
For a nifty compact light, this does most things that you would want. It has quite a bit of power so on a dark road, your only light source is what you have brought, this on the most powerful setting will provide decent light.
The two things that bum me out are rather minor and really result in 12 of star reduction. (1) Battery life, chances are you want the power but 90 minutes is rather short. (2) There are a few too many modes. I like the idea of full, blinking and less than full power but without inductors, it is hard to know what power setting you are on. This also includes the lack of A TRUE BLINK mode. I didnt buy a mood light, I want a clear ON and OFF state.
Features that I am enjoying the most about this light are
(a) high power at a minimal price point
(b) not whitered side lights (lights up cock pit and shows nicely on white gloves)
(c) rotating mount so this acts as a directional spot
(d) how waterproof it appears to be (even the cap covering the usb port)
Things they could improve upon
-longer battery life
-indicators (low bat life AND which strength are you on)
-a true BLINK mode (no mood gradient change)
Simple, easy to use and recharge. Pair it with a helmet light and commuting in dark, early morning hours is safe. Picked the whitegrey color so it is easier to see in the dark.
