The light was shipped in something other that retail packaging but included directions and a charging cable so no issues there. The amber side lights are a nice touch and may get noticed more on a flat bar than a drop bar bike if you're riding on the hoods. The light pattern and output is good for this price point. The construction of the light feels solid although I suspect the rubber strap will fail at about the same time the rechargeable battery quits reliably holding a charge so maybe that's not much of an issue. That rubber strap and self-contained design of battery and light as a single unit make swapping the light from bike to bike an easy affair as well as bringing it in to charge. All in, it's an easy light to recommend to anyone who isn't riding off-road at night for hours at a time.
The funny thing is that I use the Light & Motion bike lights far more off the bike than while riding. These lights are fantastic flashlights. I use them while walking my dog at night. Anytime you need a flashlight these can be used.
On the bike they are great - multiple modes to suit how you are riding and how much light you need. They are small so you can easily bring more than one on the bike so you have a backup. You can mount with the strap or get a GoPro style mounting for more flexibility.

Over the 9 years of fun riding and commuting, I've gone through my share of lights. When I'm commuting I run my Schmidt dynamo light in front of my headtube then I attach this light on my helmet and run it in pulse mode. I like LM's pulse mode because it's not like the typical harsh strobe light that bother others. It's continuous, slower pulsing and not like a camera flash going off 10 times a second. Plus the pulse pattern varies.
Years ago, I used another popular light in the strobe mode during the day and a pedestrian complained that it bothered him. Since I've switched to LM no complaints.
Why do I run it in pulse mode during the day? Prior to using the 2 front light method, I've had drivers that seem to look right at me but still pull out as if I'm not there. I've not had that happen since using this method. Charging and battery life seems comparable to the other lights. The differentiator for me is that I can be safe without bothering others. This light is not that easy to use. It is also hard to see which setting it is on. I had heard good things about Light and motion but was very disappointed in this light. it also did not look like it was packaged in the original packaging. Wondering if I received a 2nd grade product.
I use the light on my road bike on every ride at all times. It does not last more than 2 hrs.

Great compact light with decent lumens for the price/size. Especially like the rubber strap as it's quiet compared to lights that slide onto a hard plastic base.
It serves it's purpose for all times of day. I switch it out to my various bikes as needed, and that's easy.
