It does the job, I use it for quick stops when going to store and running errands around, will not leave my bike outside overnight with this look, but hey, I live in horrible NYC. Sort of heavy but I expected that, you can't have a reliable lock that won't be on the heavy side. Sometimes it's difficult to place the key in and you can't take the key out when unlock. Mount is steady and easy to install.
This lock can only be sawed open with a Carbide Tungsten steel blade-25 to 30 minutes of sawing or a plasma torch in less than 1 minute.So if you lock it up in the city during the day No-One is going to get your bike,they will look for an easier target!
I use this as a back up for securing my MTB to the rack in addition to the Thule rack lock. Gives a little more comfort with $5,000 to $10,000 sitting on your rack as you go into a store or eatery after a ride. It is a little on the big and bulky side for carrying around on a bike or in a backpack but lives in the back of the car nicely.
Easy to use, safe enough for all but the nicest bikes, this is my go to lock for my commuter bike
This is a great lock for low-mid crime areas. Not heavy at all to carry in a backpack or on the bike itself. The lock does rattle a little bit while riding on not so smooth roads. The cable could be longer aswell, but good for solo use.
