Some reviews say the glove fits small. Having put up with my very worn and loose fitting gloves for some time, I decided to go with the recommended sizing based on palm circumference. So, yes, when I first tried them on they were VERY snug, but as I have worn them a few times, they get easier and easier to put on and take off. I did email customer service directly after receiving them and was also given the guidance to use them for a while to see how they might stretch, and they were right.
I am on my third pair of Monaco II gloves. I generally wear them only on longer rides and races. The (real) leather feels incredible and the pads are exactly where I need them to keep numbness at bay.
Its like Im not even wearing gloves
I have ridden the Monaco Gel for a long time. There is nothing like the tacky grip of real leather. Be careful, though, they run small.
I use this glove for road cycling. Typically ride 150 to 200 miles a week. The padding on the palm helps relieve the compression of the ulnar nerve. A pair lasts me about 6 months through multiple washings. The cloth on the thumb is useful for wiping sweat from the face. The only problem I have had is with those with black material that bleeds through to the hands the first few times they are used.
I wear these only for rides over 50 miles as they have caused me to only rely on them for necessity.
When I first received these, they were a little tight, but felt great. After only a few sweaty rides they started hardening when dry, despite my handwashing. Even leather conditioner has not helped much. I still squeeze my hands into them to get my money's worth and eventually they soften up enough to be decently comfortable. The black palms stain my hands to this day, after hundreds of hours in them.
I expected an improvement over the original Monacos, and have seen only better quality control and slightly better durability.
Picked these up for the gel padding and namequality. I'm very happy with them for summer gloves. Wore them on the Crater Lake Century this year, and my hands did well in them. Washed them multiple times and they continue to hold up.
Fairly standard glove with the exception of the Pittard's leather palm, which grips like no other gloves I've used before. Giro seems to be making their gloves smaller lately, so I would definitely size up.
Other reviews note that they fit small. While true, you will also find that they relax (stretch may be too strong). When your hands are a little damp after 50 miles peel these off; don't expect them to slide off like the skin off a banana
Something about these glove doesn't fit correctly so that I experience radial (thumb/forefingers) numbness. They just feel too tight despite measuring and following the size chart. Also, I got the black ones and due to the Tennessee summer heat my palms are are discolored from the dye.
Nice gloves....Order a size bigger. I've always worn a medium for any gloves I have ever worn, but I needed to send these back for a large.
Use daily. They are holding up well.
Rode a few times!! Did a 100 mile race and pulled gloves off when they ripped !!
Giro Monaco glove was improved with this version. I've used the original Monaco gloves for several years and love the fit and the performance on the bike. The look great as well!
Great gloves. Very soft and molds well to your hands. Just weird that when washing, there's a ton of dye coming out. Best to not mix with other stuff when washing. Overall love the comfort and breathability the gloves provide. Order 1 size bigger
Was throughly pleased with these gloves. The quality and appearance was great and the gel feels very substantial. Don't have tons of miles on them but I can tell they are much more substantial than my last ones. Only downside is that my normal L hands really needed XL for this brand.
Due to the winter temperatures, I have not yet used the gloves. They fit, maybe a bit snug, but I suspect they will stretch. They appear to be as durable as the Giro gloves they replace. The padding is well placed, seemingly, better placed for the way I generally have my hands on my bike's flat handlebars.
I've tried most of the high end gloves out there and typically prefer less padding; however, these gloves fit so well with the gel pads placed so perfectly that I rushed to buy 3 pair and have retired many of my old favorites. I hope that these gloves will always be available!
So I chose to run with white bar tape by choice. All the gloves I own all have black palms. Theoretically it should be ok, but when the mitts get sweaty the leather dye will transfer onto the pristine white bars. That set my search for gloves with white palms. Happy to say, white palms, white bars!
These gloves have held up well over a full season However they seem to run a bit small. By the recommended measurement system I should have been a mid range medium. I couldn't get my hand into a medium. Reordered large and all was well. I did experience a bit of black transfer to my hands during the first sweaty use.
