Bought these because I was looking for a super vent shoe with Boas for the deep summer and found them on a good sale. While I expected something good from Giro's top of the line I was surprised how good it was. Admittedly this is my first flagship shoe so I don't know if everyone is used to living like this.
The ventilation is exactly what I'm looking for, the Boas spin both directions which is nice, the closure is snug and comfy and while I may have erred on the side of one size too big they still work and fit snug enough. But the sole, that's the surprise. This thing is quite pleasantly and noticeably stiff in a very comfortable way. Moreover, I feel like the lack of flex makes clipping in and out so much easier than any of my other "lesser" shoes. Usually new cleats need to get a bit worn for me before it becomes easy to clip in/out but for whatever reason these just worked great the first time and every time after. Not to mention they feel sturdy and stable for power delivery. The included insoles with adjustable arches were fine for what they are, but I opted for one of my normal aftermarket pairs that support my high arches a bit better.
5 stars, I would buy again (at the right price)
I have tried many shoes and Giro has always worked for me. They might be pricey, but comfort comes at no cost. Light weight with a stiff carbon sole great power transfer to pedals. With the new BOA Li2 closer for the upper and lower there an upgrade from my Laced Imperial SLX. FYI I have a long narrow foot.
