coming from the older rtl500- this 2nd generation has better battery life and brighter light. Its a worthy upgrade.
the use is very simple you just turn it on and go for a ride, until today don't have a complaint about it
use it in conjuction with another tail light and sure has a lot of drivers slowing down and moving over to pass. i think it is very good!!!!
Road cycling on country roads. Really helps me to get over and to the right, especially when training hard.

Great radar. I have yet to see a false negative. Always informs me of an approaching vehicle and makes me much more aware and therefore safer.
The radar works best on flat, straight roads. It is less effective on winding, rolling hills. It also looses effectiveness when the device picks up material on it from wet/damp roads.
Love that I didn't need to buy the separate unit to see the traffic. Integration with my Garmin was a snap.
I feel safer with the Garmin Varia on the back of my bike. The bright flashing red light definitely seems to provide vehicle drivers a fair warning that I am on the road.
Why doesn't every cyclist use this. It makes road cycling safer and more fun because you are more relaxed when you know if and when a car is behind you. Highly recommended.

Love Garmin's original Varia, but always thought it looked bulky. This version is sleek, looks great on my P-3 and works great. Highly recommend!
Light is bright. Radar picked up a moped.

You need a blinky light, why not one that will reliably tell you if cars are approaching. I liked the first generation of the product. Some upgrades in styling. Must have product.
Varia let's me know when Cars are approaching. I can focus on my training and not worry about getting in anybody's way. I highly recommend this product. A definite game changer.
will not ride without this
This light keeps me more aware of traffic and gives me an extra set of eyes when trying to change lanes. I would recommend this to anyone!
Love this thing and its a terrific safety device. Can see when cars are approaching long before I can hear them coming. Its been very dependable and lasts for a century ride.
