I think chest straps have been on top of their technology for a while. This one is great in many aspects, removable sensor and washable strap, steady stream of data on ANT or Bluetooth, recharging with USB-C cord. Nothing I don't like about it.
I bought this to replace my HRM pro. I was expecting it to perform at least as well as my less expensive older Garmin strap. Currently the HRM 600 does not support power calculations for nordic skiing. This was the number one reason I bought this strap over a cheaper one. Hopefully Garmin will fix this problem with a firmware update.
The main thing you want from a heart rate monitor is for it work. It works well. In the cold, indoors, in the pool. It works
