What a piece of junk. The design is horrible. Mine came assembled backward. Had to be undone and turned inside out. The "tool" for removing the battery cover is a few little nubs attached to the strap. It won't open the cover, keeps slipping out. The strap itself is extremely low quality. This was twice the price of earlier iterations of Garmin straps, which were far better. I've put up with Garmin's device buttons that fall apart after a year, but this thing is the last straw. Time to migrate to another brand.
I don't know how many heart rate monitor straps I've owned over the decades, but the interval of replacement is getting longer as the durability improves. This design looks like it should last longer than the previous one. The clasp design seems the same, but they moved the 'skin protection tab' to the opposite end of the strap. So far it hasn't shown any tendency to come unhooked on it's own, which I found to be an issue with my previous one. They have also simplified the length adjustment, there is now only one adjustment loop instead of two which makes it much easier to get right.
Has an older strap that died on me. I couldn't find that model but still needed one for indoor biking. I paired it easily but the app showed connected without showing the data. I tried all kinds of things and the instructions weren't really great. I asked Gemini and it immediately told me to try the button on it to change modes since different devices need different modes. Would have been so much easier if the HRM would donut automatically or the HRM would switch modes automatically. Just an annoyance since this is a one time thing unless you connect it to different devices that need different modes.
Anyway I would prefer a simple one that just works and I also noted that this HRM need to be more moist than the previous one I had and it stopped working on e 20 mins into a workout.
Not sure there is a better one out there but in case you don't swear much like me or the default mode doesn't work for you
Purchased to replace old HRM this one is great and was easy to pair with my edge 530. I like the led that lets you know it's working
Works very well, always accurate. This replaced an old strap and the new style works well, (if I remember to push the button to turn it on.)
I'm a bigger guy and wasn't sure how this would fit me. I've got some bigger bike goals this year and needed a heart monitor for my training plans I'm using. It works great so far and was easy to connect with my other Garmin products.
It seems to work fine, the pairing is easy. The on/off button is a nice feature. The true test will be in durability though, I go through HRM's quickly. I'm hoping this lasts more than a year.
After the 20 year old HR strap started to go on the fritz this was necessary. Garmin makes great products.

The Garmin HRM 200 works as expected. Comfortable fit and dependable data allow me to use this heart rate monitor on every ride. Seamless integration with my other Garmin devices. Highly recommend.
Easy to set up the way you want if you look at the short instructions.

An improvement over their prior straps. Only thing to keep in mind is to make sure it's turned on before you start.

Easily adjusted, fits well, works consistently.
The addition of the LED light showing that its active is a plus versus the older version of this strap.
Works as you'd expect.....just don't forget to turn it on!
