The 1050 is a huge improvement over all the previous bike computers that I have used. It feels like you are using a cell phone, but with way better battery life, etc. The large screen is beautiful, the UI is intuitive, and it can do all you need and then some.
Coming from 830. My eyes are not what it used to be. It was getting a little difficult to see on the 830. I can now see much better on the large and bright screen of the 1050. UI is very responsive. The alert sounds are much more pleasant. No more beeps and chirps. I little pricy but it's a nice upgrade.
I like Garmin because I ride four different bikes and am able to set up an individual profile for each bike. Swiping between pages allows me to have maps and information available easily. Also, Garmin offers tech support second to none.
Being an early adopter always has its drawbacks, be weary of fit issues on one piece bar and stem combos, as well as out front mounts. Device is great but new UI takes some getting used to. Touch sensitivity is good, display is amazing, and unit is fast and responsive. Good but not great.
What an awesome computer. Star of the art and tons of useful metrics! As always the staff was helpful in determining the best units for my needs.
I originally had the 1030 and was on the fence about upgrading but so glad I did. A lot better screen control and the bell is a nice feature with riding on bike/walking paths
I though with this update to a brighter screen the battery would not last, but I was surprised with the amount of power left after doing the same ride with a 1030 plus! No issues so far!
Better screen, battery life, and functionality. I love that my Ultegra shifters allow me to ring the 'bell' and move through the screens. So glad I upgraded.
