Doesn't fit large, modern (56cm or bigger) road bikes. Not tall enough.

Colossally disappointed right now and exceedingly mad. Just found that this roller bag doesn't fit a 2021 56cm Trek Domane SL6 that I bought this bag to ship out my bike in for a century ride at the end of August. Even with the seat removed and the post all the way down, my bike is too tall for the case. Even were the case just tall enough, I wouldn't feel comfortable that the post being right at the limit wouldn't get smashed into my carbon frame and potentially destroy the seat mast and/or the rest of the frame. Now I'm stuck with a useless case and basically out $360, unless I want to spend an obscene amount to ship this back for a refund. At this short of a juncture there's going to be no way I can get something else and ship the bike in time to make the race.

Good design, and recycled fabric

This is the second travel bag I've owned, the other bag was by EVOC. And I much prefer the Dakine. Size is a tad smaller, and the internal layout and storage is slightly better in its design. The Dakine bag also uses recycled polyester! Dakine just makes some of the best travel bags, I have and use there ski sleeves and boot pack as well. Dakine is doing more Bluesign and recycled fabrics throughout their product line, and so I'll keep paying attention to what they're making.

Best bike bag

This bag is great! Ive used it on three trips so far this year and its survived the TSA no issues. Thankfully I have some exposure to the EVOC bag so I have something to compare it to. The Dakine has a bit more space in it compared to the EVOC. I easily fit my size large enduro Mtb, plus my full face helmet, shoes, pads or hydration pack no problem. The wheel bags provided are more spacious then the competition and fit my front and rear 29er 2.5 tires no problem. The wheel bags have a bit of protection padding for your brake rotors as well. My cousin who has the Evoc bag had issues with the airline bending his brake rotors. I had no such issues. The padding that protects other bits of the bike are ample as well, I was happy to see the fork bag has a cutout for a fender to fit thru which is a nice touch, so I wouldnt have to pack zip ties to reinstall it. If I have one complaint it would be that the foam block at the bottom of the bag to prop up the rear triangle doesnt go quite high enough that you can leave on the rear derailleur, so it must be removed to prevent damage. No big deal but I had to be nit picky. The bag also collapses down for storage which is a very nice plus! Overall very happy with the bag, Id highly recommend it!

Very easy to use. It's collapsible and store it under my bed. Great padding.

Buy this bag And dont waste your money shipping!

Absolutely stoked on this bag!

I did the whole rent a bike on your travels and I just cant live with it... lets face it, its just not your ride.

I did a ton of research on these bags and checked the airlines weight restrictions and this made it tough. I also looked into bike flights, but who wants to ship 7 days in advance and worry about all of that nonsense? (Or you can just use this bag for shipping).

I ride a 34 lb. long travel 29er and was able to put my shoes, full face and pedals in this guy to make it 62 lbs.

All you have to do is take off your pedals, your bars off the stem, detach your derailleur bolt where the hanger attaches to the frame and remove the wheels.

Be sure to put your axle back through your fork and mark where your bars were mounted (I used athletic tape).

The rear wheel will go in the bag and it has a spot for your cassette to fit into.

By the way - I have oversized rotors and a 1x12 drivetrain and it fits great. I did take some air out of the tires to help fit a little easier and wasnt sure about air pressure while flying ( just be careful to let your sealant spew out everywhere).

The pouches and padding in the bag have color coded connectors, so you know where everything has to go and the bag for the derailleur works well.

The only extra step I took was taping my crank arm to the triangle, along with the chain, just so it wasnt slapping around and scratching everything.

The padding in this bag is great and doesnt require any additional wrapping. It will definitely protect that $10,000 bike you were scared to travel with. If youre scared, wrap everything in towels. I searched for video reviews on the bag to confirm how everything fit in specifically. Literally takes 15 minutes to depart and pack, depending on your abilities.

If you dont already have a multi-tool, crank brothers has a tool that has everything you need on it to disassemble, then youre not carrying around an entire toolbox.

Do yourself a favor and get a Bluetooth transponder (like Tile) that links to your phone so you can see where it is at all times, just cuts down on the stress of your bag making the flight.

If youre even considering a bag for a mountain bike, this is the one - stop looking. Dakine nailed it.
