I live in the upper midwest and was looking for something that I could wear in the winter that isn't too hot, but stays put over my ears. This is the perfect weight, stays around my ears and is just the right level of warmth.
this headband is so small it fits anywhere and is pretty warm for its thin material...I use it when its chilly but not cold enough for a full hat-hi 40s t0 50s
Two teenage boys in my life ride their bikes to school every day. As the weather got colder their helmets weren't sufficient to keep their ears warm and their hats didn't fit under the helmets. When I spied them riding with their hats and no helmets I did some research and found your product. The headbands worked and now the boys are compliant with their helmets. It also came after a brief lecture on the dangers of riding the city streets without head protection. Great product!
This Castelli earband is my new favorite, the one I've been diligently searching for after Pearl Izumi "upgraded" it's longtime basic lightweight to a bulkier uncomfortable design. Sorry, PI.
The Castelli is featherweight and the extra height makes it almost double as a earwarmer/scull cap combo, for those who accessorize specifically.
I bought one, saw the value, ordered another.
Very light weight, very thin, and perfect protection from the chill. I mostly run with it, some bike, some XC skiing and snowshoeing, I just love wearing this. Doesn't get sweaty soggy like heavier fabric and has good stretch so it's comfortable-not tight and not sloppy loose.
I was looking for a thin headband. My helmet is snug and won't allow anything even remotely bulky to be worn. I also have hair (lots of it...thanks, Covid) and don't really feel the need for full coverage. This fills the bill nicely.
Works really well in cold temps. I've worn it in sub -freezing temps and it kept my head and ears warm. Not bulky and easily fits under a helmet.
Comfortable and warm when you want to keep your ears out of the wind. If I need something like this I usually wear a cap, but if I am uncertain I have this in my pocket.
