Assos stuff is very expensive but I decided to try these bc they were on sale and WOW am I impressed. I've struggled to find the right pair of MTB shorts but these are a winner. Absolutely love the waist band. It's so comfortable and because it has no belt, snap, etc. I can wear my hip pack with no bunching or binding. The shorts themselves are very lightweight; I barely notice them (a good thing) and I stay cool on hot days. The length is great, the cut is tailored to pedaling, and 2 zip pockets on the front are just enough. I'll be buying another pair when they are back in stock. Highly recommend.
Likes: Zippered pockets, Air Flow for Cooling, Colorfast fabric, Length (not too long), Fabric/Material quality. These shorts are more tapered loose fit than most other shorts. If you want total baggy these are not the ones. These shorts impress and are exactly the right shorts when outside temperatures soar. These shorts may be higher in price, but in the long run they will be the most cost effective. My other shorts were much hotter and bleached out in the sun so they were brown/black rather than black.
Comfortable with plenty of stretch. There is no button or fastener up top, so it fits like a road cycling short up top with some space in the legs. It fits a tad smaller than anticipated, but not restricting due to the incredible stretch to the material. I would not pay full price for it.
Really wanted to like these! Size was right, quality was good, but fit was wired. I returned them.
