Description Successfully Streamlined.
Shimano eliminates redundancy with their Ultegra BR-R8010 Direct Mount Brake, streamlined to achieve a low profile look, reduced weight, and enhanced aerodynamics for better overall performance. The outer cable stop is re-positioned to alleviate cable routing friction and the brake arch proportions are optimized for increased responsiveness and power. The brake shoes are adjustable and easy to align, allowing for easy maintenance and customization. The BR-R8010 Direct Mount Brake can accommodate wider rims and larger tires, up to 28mm, thanks to increased clearance.

Solid Option with comparable pull to dura-ace
Ultegra direct mount (chain stay) brakes aren't all that amazing as far as performance goes but that is more down to the placement on the bike than the brake unit itself. It's as good as dura-ace in response and power but at half the price (or less) and only a minimal weight penalty it's a true value for money option.

I like the precise nature of the rigid fixation to the fork. This alleviates the occasional deviations seen with the single pivot point of its predecessor. Unfortunately, it is still winter in Massachusetts and I havent ridden with them yet.
