Description

E-Tube Cabling For Di2

The Di2 EW-SD50 Wires are the "E-Tube cables" for Shimano's Ultegra 6770, 6870, r8000 and Dura-Ace 9070 and r9100 groupsets. They're used to connect each of the electronic components within either system.

You'll need four of these to connect the Front Wire/Junction (A) to the Rear Junction Box (B), Battery, Front and Rear Derailleurs (all sold separately). r8000 and r9100 groupsets require 6 total, so plan accordingly.

These are sold individually. To recap, four wires are required per bike for previous Ultegra versions, and six wires are required per bike for current Ultegra and Dura-Ace, r8000 and r9100 groupsets. Choose from various lengths for a perfect fit*. Compatible with internally or externally routed systems. The SM-GM01 and SM-GM02 Rubber Grommets are recommended for frames with internal cable routing. For external routing, add the SM-EWC2 Wire Covers for an additional aesthetic touch.

*Note: Additional wire slack can be taken up at the Rear Junction (B). When in doubt, it's best to order a slightly longer wire.

Di2 hidden wires, how many, what lengths?
by John42

Shimano Di2 EW-SD50 E-Tube Wires; YOU NEED about 6 or 7 various lengths. All the components clip together:

It helps to understand the lengths you require, longer is better, if you have room to stuff extra in down-tube. The line through your handlebars may be longer.

Counted 6 wires: In the SEAT TUBE, Battery-WIRE-wireless transmitter-WIRE-Junction Box- Wire-Rear Derailleur. Same Junction Box -WIRE-Plug in device-WIRE-R Shifter- Wire- L Shifter

YES, To connect SHIFTERS: I drilled 2 exit holes (near the plug end) in my carbon handle bars, maybe 8cm from end (Mad Man) or consider other handle bars.

It is just a cable... but you need one to add the Di2 EW-WU111 In-Line Wireless Transmitter
by Anonymous

It is just a short cable, but very helpful to add the wireless transmitter inline without having to cut any cables or wires.

Mandatory

I think this should be required for any bike with Di2. Who wants to look at blinking lights to see if your battery is flat? Also enabling the little buttons under the brake hoods is convenient if your Garmin screen andor hands are wet. Only downside, this stuff is expensive for what it is.

Uh, what can I say... this is necessary to connect the wireless Di2 module. Is it worth $xx, no way... but a necessary evil.
