The 11-speed 105 drivetrain is without a doubt the best version of this groupset ever to hit the market. But just how different can a crankset be, right? Well, the redesigned 5800 crankset boasts one very important change: the asymmetric 4-bolt spider. Back in the heady days of 2007, it used to be that if you wanted to give up the ghost and go from a standard crankset to a compact crankset, you’d have to buy a whole new crankset. Sure, you’d be out some money, but at least that dirty old crankset would make a great paperweight. Thanks to the redesigned spider of the 11-speed crankset you can swap chainrings at will. This crankset also features Shimano’s Hollowtech II technology, shedding weight and increasing stiffness.
The 105 FC-5800-L crankset is available in 170mm, 172.5mm and 175mm lengths, with 50/34T or 53/39T chainrings and any color you want, as long as it’s black.

repairing a worn out bottom bracket on my Felt. It had an entry level FSA crankset and switching to the Shimano 105 was a huge increase in performance. I got the product in a timely manner and price was right.
