Illustrious illumination.

When Winter comes knocking, bringing with it shorter days and darker, wetter riding conditions, look to the dynamic duo of NiteRider's Lumina 1100 Boost and Solas 100 lights for their protective illumination. Each light meets the FL1 Standard for lumen output, runtime and water and dust resistance with their IP64-rated construction.

The Lumina 1100 Boost Headlight is designed to be a versatile, powerful headlight that is capable of meeting the needs of any riding category. From commuting through the urban jungle, to shredding down your favorite trail, and even taking a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood after a long day in the saddle, the Lumina has you covered. With 4 light levels as well as 2 Daylight-visible Flash modes, and a low powered Walk mode, the Lumina's ready for whatever you've got planned, or whatever Mother Nature throws at you.

Out back, the Solas 100's dual LED design pumps out 100 lumens of red light, making sure those coming up from behind see you well before they're upon you. With 4 light modes to choose from, the Solas has two dynamic flash settings and one full-power solid light mode for you to choose from when riding solo or commuting. However, when you're out riding with friends or team-mates, the solas features a Group Ride Mode that lowers the output to maintain visibility without distracting (or blinding) your riding buddies.

excellent way to light up the night

This light does it all. A whopping 1100 lumens is plenty bright for just about any application. Previously I had the 700 lumen version, which was fine, but the handlebar attachment piece was a weak cam device. That light flew off my bars during a steep descent on my mountain bike one day and I never saw it again. I was happy to see that when I replaced it with the 1100, they included a much more secure section of rubber that stretches to fit across a nub. If you crank it down hard enough you have zero chance of losing your light. It is also compact enough to use during hard rainy or low light road rides without sacrificing much weight. The Solas is nice too, but the real value here is the Lumina.
