Lezyne Hecto Drive 500XL Front Light

There are loads of these lights. I picked this one because of it's relative brightness. I immediately noticed motorists noticing me more often. The light has several settings but if you are riding during the day the high intensity flashing setting is really the best option. The rubber band is a bit of a struggle to take on an off the handle bar but once secured doesn't show any sign of wanting to depart the bike. Charging the unit is also easy relative to other tech since the light plugs directly into one of those cubes. You don't have that annoying search for which cord to use. How long does it stay charged? I have gone on 3-4 hour rides and still had light. I am trying to charge it every other ride just as a precaution. You can press the "on and off" top button to get an idea of how much juice is left. In all respects I am happier with this light than my much larger ,heavier and harder to secure Nite Rider.

Great light, even if it is a bit klunky. I wanted a super bright safety headlight, and this one does the trick. Anything to be more visible out there!

What I like about this product: Clean, compact design, no-cable direct USB charging, and a bright and wide beam of light. It is also a good value.

What could be improved: Short battery life using the brightest settings. I need to recharge it after every 1.5 hr ride instead of every 2-3 rides. Also, the light is a bit yellowish compared to a nice, clean white light in competitive products.

Cheap & now I doubly know why.

First--and frankly most lights that don't meet European standards--it dazzles everyone approaching. Really not acceptable--and pretty dangerous for unlit pedestrians--on trails in the dark.

Secondly, after a summer in the closet, it no longer charges. It lit up when i plugged it in so I switched it off. Now it wont turn on.

help how do I recharge

Low weigh, easy to use and recharge, good strap system makes it easy to move between bikes, bright daytime flash.
