This one slipped through.

Kask's Protone Helmet was first seen on the heads of Team Sky riders at the 2014 Tour de France, and now this aero lid can be all yours. Its sleek profile was designed with the aid of computational fluid dynamics software to create a shape that retrains its efficiency in the wind through all head angles. The result is a helmet that's quiet and low-drag in any position on the bike, instead of merely touting numbers calculated in a wind tunnel under controlled conditions.

For a highly personalized fit, Kask's Octo Fit retention system features a rubberized dial tension adjuster, plus vertical adjustability and movable rear cradles. The Coolmax® lining has an antimicrobial treatment, and the chin strap is made from eco-leather that's washable along with being super soft to prevent irritation.

Available in multiple sizes and colorways. A helmet storage bag is also included. Made in Italy.

So Cool!
by coyvicsvicoy

I like this Matte Black finish of the Protone! It is literally and figuratively so COOL. Because it is Matte Black, you can pair it with any color jersey and you will still look like you have a matching kit. The vents are really well designed that it cools my head during a hot Southern California mountain climb! Also the design is so Aero that it gives you that advantage, now I can also enjoy the minimal gains that this terrific product provides and I love it....I have TWO of these already and planning on getting a 3rd one!!!! That's how much I like the Protone helmet from KASK.

Great light comfortable helmet

Great helmet, been using it for several months now. Lightweight and comfortable, lots of vents throughout. I notice that the outer shell is very soft and brittle, well as least the matte version of this helmet, so be careful not to scratch or drop it. The front padding soaks up a lot of sweat when climbing in direct sunlight so I had to position the padding up towards the vents to help dry it out.

Protone is used for road riding and mountain biking. I have used it with a liner for winter riding. Best feeling helmet I have owned. It replaced a Kask Mojito.

This is my new cooler weather helmet. Excellent aerodynamics with not a lot of wind noise around the ears, so it is easier to hear traffic. Looks good in matt black, already received several compliments. Easy to adjust.

The Protone is a great helmet for long rides. Recently used it while riding a century a few weeks ago in 80 degree weather. I have a black helmet and I never felt over heated because it's well ventilated. It's also super light and fairly aero.

Awesome helmet

This is the best fitting helmet with the best chin strap system Ive owned to date. The size is good and the outer shell size feels relatively small for a Large. The only criticism is the clear coating or sealant seems to be peeling in a few internal areas but not a big deal. Highly recommend

Expensive but Awesome!

Love this helmet! Light weight, vents extremely well, adjusts to fit a plethora of head shapes and it looks great. I love how bulk free the silhouette of this lid is - compared to say the POC or even the Giro Synthe, it almost disappears. It is a bit on the expensive side but give the quality of the materials used and the overall fit quality I would recommend this helmet to anyone.

Best helmet I've used to date - comfort, speed and looks - this has it all.

Still in the early stages of using my new Kask Protone. Initially drawn to it by positive reviews from ride buddies. Compared to my previous helmets I can tell and feel that this is made with a view to cutting the air efficiently. It is comfortable with good venting and a high quality retention system, which on a ride lasting several hours on what could be a hot day, is critical. My previous helmet looked like a mushroom on my head - this does not. Plenty of flexibility in the retention to accommodate cold weather skull cap or liner. Sunglasses fit without problems. My only issue is that it feels a bit too snug on my forehead which I expect is more a function of my head shape rather than being any sort of design flaw.

Proton fits like a glove
by Kevin

I tried Giro first, but found the fit isn't for my head shape, the giro helmets are for rounder type heads, my head is thinner on the sides even though I wear xl helmets. The proton fits my head like a glove, even, and balanced. It's ducts keep my head nice and cool on hot days. During 50f days, it was too efficient, making my head cold, but I should have worn something underneath the helmet to cut the wind. I've had a ton of helmets over the last 30 years, and although it isn't the lightest, it fits the best!! Being aerodynamic, it reduces air drag in fast descents. I always catch my friends on descents, not sure what percentage is attributed to the helmet, but I'm sure it contributes in reducing drag.

Great looks, great fit and aero!

I was in the market to replace my Giro Synthe that I had to trash because of crash caused by a SUV cutting me off. I've always owned Giros but they never quite fit me right. I have a 59cm circumference head so according to Kask sizing, I should be wearing a large but the medium fits me great. I have a more round than oval shape head so that maybe the reason. Both the helmet and chinstrap are way more comfortable than my old Synthe. I love how the chinstrap lays perfectly flat against your face. That has to save a watt or two. ,-) I do have one minor quibble, my POC sunglasses do not fit that well in the air vents. Not a deal breaker but it's the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Exactly as promised

I had been debating over getting this helmet for a while and finally pulled the trigger. I'm glad I did as all the positive reviews are valid. This is my secod Kask helmet and like the first, this one did not disappoint. It has a nice compact fit, good looks, and low weight. I've only ridden with this helmet so far in the warmer months and compared to a traditionally styledventilated helmet I seemed at first to be getting a bit hot under the hat. Then I figured out just to tilt my head up just a fraction higher and I would get a rush of air across my melon and I'd feel fresh as a daisy again. Whether it's an aero advantage or not who knows. I would buy it again just for its looks, weight, comfort and the high quality of Kask products.

Best helmet I've ever owned
by smitty

This helmet looks great on my small-ish head. Most do not, so this one's a big win for vanity! More importantly, it always feels secure, comfortable, and doesn't move around on my noggin unless I want it to. I was surprised to find how good it is at cooling the noggin as well you wouldn't know it by looking at it, but ventilation is excellent. In fact, on my very first ride with it, ventilation was obviously improved over my previous normal helmet. Aero? I can't really speak to that. Maybe I'm the tiniest bit faster, but I bought this helmet for comfort, safety, and vanity. As advertised, the helmet is highly adjustable, and the leather chin strap is definitely a nice touch.

So why only 4 stars? Glasses. Neither pair of my sunglasses will fit securely and comfortably with the helmet. The arms seem to fight with the rear cradles. I'm not the only one to experience this problem. However, I've found that if I adjust the cradles just so, I'm able to wedge the arms through them - and that's the only way to prevent my glasses from slipping down my nose. This in turn makes a very comfortable helmet somewhat less so. So that's a bummer, but for me, the benefits of this helmet still outweigh that single (but significant) drawback.
