Improved performance using the pedals you already own.

It's not often you can upgrade some of a bike component to make it as good as the newest version, but that's exactly what Garmin is offering with the Vector 2 upgrade kit. The kit swaps out only the pods to turn your Vector pedals into Vector 2.

The pedal pods have been revamped to get rid of finicky washers, with a clamp system permitting the installation of the pedal first, and the pod clamps on over it. An LED status indicator on each pod provides information for proper installation and maintenance including pedal pairing status and battery replacement. As always, the ANT+® transmission means it's compatible with Garmin Edge® computers, Forerunner® watches or other ANT+® enabled devices.

Includes two pods and hardware. Compatible with Vector 2 dual-pedal power systems. Standard fits 12-15 mm thick cranks. Large fits 15-18 mm thick cranks.

Works well but maybe not the best design

I upgraded because my left pedal wasn't connecting and staying connected consistently. I must have been an issue with the pedal itself and not the pods because upgrading didn't fix the issue. It was better, but not 100%. Also, since these hang off the bottom of the pedal I was worried about snapping off one of the pods - well of course I did. Long story short - just spend the money and get the generation 3 pedals without the pods or some other power meter. These would be good if you V1 work and you use them on your indoor trainer

I broke one pod of the old version that I was using. Bought to replace the broken and also upgrade at the same time. I'd buy it even if I didn't break my old pods, and install them and use the old pods for a backup.
