The Assos Men's Mille GT Wind Vest C2 is an ultra-packable windproof vest developed for moderate protection and minimal bulk, updated with a rustle-free fit, increased breathability, and lighter materials.
Assos have improved their endurance gilet's fit with a less rigid wind-blocking front panel and a highly elastic mesh rear panel, allowing the vest to wrap the body for a rustle-free fit while also increasing cooling airflow. Updated armhole elastic reduces restriction and ensures no overlap with the MILLE GT C2 Jersey's seams, increasing comfort and freedom of movement while eliminating friction between layers. The ultralight, ultra-packable design stows in a pocket when not needed, and the new mesh back panel reduces weight to just 75g (size medium).
A front panel of Breaker fabric with water repellency blocks wind and light precipitation or road spray. The tear-resistant, bi-stretch Ventamesh rear panel streamlines fit and increases cooling airflow to prevent overheating.

This is a perfect vest for April to October around the Portland area. Don't expect it to shut out winter, but if you need a vest on a long cold summer descent, or you're just not sure if the sun you see outside means that it's warm out past your driveway, or actually that you will freeze as soon as you get out of town, this is the ideal vest. Functionally it takes the place of sluffing newspaper down your jersey (who has newspaper lying around anymore, or for that matter a jersey that's loose enough to fit a newspaper), is reusable (what do you do with Newspaper once you get to the bottom of the hill? Throw it on the side of the road for the tifosi to pick up, of course) , and, importantly stuffs down small to go into a pocket or handlebar bag. Works really well for the PNW non-summer summer days.
