Ideal for those cool fall and spring rides where added knee coverage and a touch of insulation make all the difference, the MILLE GT Spring/Fall Knickers are constructed with a blend of ultrasoft and insulating fabrics.

To make a knicker that would meet the demands of variable conditions, Assos innovated on two custom insulated textiles.

RX Heavy makes up the majority of the paneling. A beefed-up version of its workhorse RX, this fabric shields the fronts of legs from biting winds and cold air and features an ECO water-repellent treatment for further protection from light precipitation. On the backs, RX Light brings enhanced ventilation to a high-stress zone.

The fit of the MILLE GT Knickers falls into Assos' regularFit category, which means they're lightly compressive where they need to be, but not as tight as the brand's racingFit apparel. Flexing with each pedal stroke, the fabrics are pre-shaped and sewn to fully wrap and support the upper leg muscles, knees, and calves while in motion.

Rounding out the design of the MILLE GT Spring/Fall Knickers is the MILLE EVO insert, a chamois that features 8mm of plush memory foam for dependable comfort and performance on every ride and every stroke.

Features & Specs:

  • RX Heavy: A brushed warp-knit fabric developed to provide exceptional comfort, wick moisture, add high levels of insulation, and remain extremely flexible. 290g/m2, ECO water-repellent, and odorControl.
  • RX Light: Lightweight, asymmetrical-stretch warp-knit fabric developed to provide light insulation and boost comfort in high-flex areas. 205g/m2, ECO water-repellent, and odorControl.
  • MILLE S7 EVO: The MILLE elastic interface insert, evolved. With a new black colorway and 8mm of memory foam, this insert is nestled at the intersection between comfort and performance.
  • 3D waffle: A patented, three-layer perforated foam that increases breathability and eliminates excess weight.
  • goldenGate: A patented technology that interrupts the stitching along both of the insert's side panels, allowing a more three-dimensional freedom of movement in this sensitive, rotational area.
  • Y7 Frame Carrier Bib Tech: Wide, flexible bib straps converge at the upper back in a Y-shape design, resulting in a flat, stable structure that disappears between the shoulder blades.
  • Stabilizator V3: Dorsal stabilizer in a solid mesh with limited vertical stretch. Includes MILLE GT line graphics and climaCode.
  • Reflective Accents: Small strips placed on the backs of the legs for added visibility.
  • regularFit: Optimized for total comfort in the riding position, with a more relaxed cut than our second-skin racingFit.

First Assos but will not be my last!

First, the sizing. I'm 5'8" and 155'lbs and size Large fits like a glove. Perfectly comfortable with the right compression in the right places without feeling restrictive. Super comfortable chamois for long distances.

Next, I have always avoided Assos due to the cost. But after buying these, they will be my go-to option if I can justify the cost. I was primarily shocked / impressed by how much "front coverage" there was with the chamois. For some reason, manufactures tend to end their chamois in a position that is not quite long enough to "completely cover" your front anatomy. These were over and above where I feel completely covered and don't feel like I'm half hanging out of my chamois. With many of the other manufactures I own (Pearl Izumi PRO, Castelli, Giro, etc), I feel partly "exposed" due to the place the chamois end. But even though it sounds dumb, these feel more like full coverage as in a good pair of underwear without feeling like you're wearing a diaper.

I wore these on a century ride paired with Castelli Pro Seamless Leg Warmers in conditions that started at low 50's and rainy and changed to low 60's / sunny and then back to rainy / windy / 50's. They worked flawlessly and did a great job of keeping me dry / wet considering the rainy / cold conditions. The chamois was plenty comfortable and caused no chaffing / irritation. Even with the rain, they were water repellent to the point that I didn't really notice any significant discomfort from the rain we encountered.

If Assos' other garments are this good, then I will gladly look for opportunities to spend the extra $$$ to buy theirs if possible. I don't want to overspend but subtle comfort and quality differences make it much easier to justify spending a little more for better products!

Assos Knickers for Cool Day Rides
by Colorado Bruce

These provide just the right amount of warmth of your legs and knees. But - for some reason the chamois wants to climb up my butt - and the bottom of the legs tries to work its way to the bottom of my knees vs. staying down the legs a bit. I love Assos bibs - can't tell you I love this Assos product.

First pair of Assos

This was my first pair of Assos gear and I have to say that I was not disappointed. They are very comfortable for fall days on the bike when you want your knees covered without having to wear knee warmers. In fact, the chamois is so comfortable I just ordered a pair of their Mille bib shorts for warmer weather. Time will tell but the fabric seems very durable and they seem to be well made. I hope to get several seasons of wear out of these!

Assos equal great quality and comfort

Riding for over 30 years (many centuries, numerous double centuries, Everest Challenge finisher) and have tried many brands of ride shorts and knickers, and I always return to Assos for the fit, comfort and quality. The Mille GT Spring/Fall knickers are my preferred shorts when the weather is cold or slightly chilly. I wear a size medium at 5'8" and 165 lbs. I always have two pair in my closet in case I ride back-to-back days!

Excellent comfort and great for cooler temps

Assos is my go-to brand for cycling shorts and now for knickers. I cycle about 5x/week for 3+ hours at a time and the Assos products always provide much more comfort than some other brands I have tried (e.g. Gore, Pearl Izumi). Weather-wise, I use the knickers in weather below 50 degrees F and in rain. As noted by other reviewers, the knickers did ride up a bit in the calf but nothing too annoying - I find bib tights a little to restrictive in the ankle area so this is a small tradeoff for me.

Assos size has changed some. Im 63 and 220 lbs and XL fits me well it used to be XLG or TIR in Assos but now the XL is good. They are warm and it will update once I get to use them for a while but a crash has me out of commission for ride till mid December.

Comfortable knickers for short and long rides

I used Assos bib knickers and bib shorts for over 20 years. Whenever I try a competitors brand they don't live up to the satisfaction of Assos shorts. The fit and chamois are the best, and these Mille GT Spring/Fall knickers are no different. Comfortable material and they keep you warm in the cooler weather.
