Yes its a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. They definitely didnt skimp on materials when they made this rack. Holds the bikes securely with no movement. Very well designed. Highly recommended!
Follow up of previous review. The handle assembly for the pivot is a vulnerable plastic part sticking out the rear. A car backed into my rack breaking the plastic. Contacted Thule and no replacement is available. They offered a new rack at 50% off which is $300 to me. I will vote with my feet and never Thule again.
Love the rack, lock mechanism, and the stability. Fold the rack up after unloaded your bikes so there it is not an obstruction. You can access your car's rear by lowering the rack with your bikes still mounted. Recommend it!
This bike rack is so user friendly. Simple to use. Its a little on the heavy side but when it it mounted up. Its rock solid
Been searching for a hitch bike rack and decided to go with the Thule T2 Pro XT. Love the security lock, a bonus feature for it not why i chose the rack. Rear access to your vehicle while bikes are still mounted on the rack. No problem loading or space b bikes. Liking it so far...
Have used this rack for just over a year and 2 of the plastic parts, wheel tray and ratchet slide, have broken, The ratchet slide is held together by screws that only thread into opposing part about 18 and has stripped out from pressure on the tire clamp and one of the tire tray struts has broken. Still functional with duct tape, but not the durability I expected. Also a poor design for use with fenders. I have no idea why this rack has been rated so good by many. Plastic for stressed parts is a poor choice. Can not recommend.
A good quality rack to safely transport your precious bikes
