I use this helmet especially for longer rides because it is lighter than my previous helmet and provides much better airflow
Use this mostly for road but works on gravel and mtn bike too.
Giros best yet
Thought I would upgrade from Synthe in use for a few years. This helmet fits well, is light, and quiet. The only negative that I have is that it is a bit larger in appearance than some other helmets.
Use it for both training and racing. Plenty of ventilation.
I crashed a while back and I wanted to upgrade to a safer helmet. I feel safer with the Giro Aether MIPS because it fits very well and tightens perfectly. It is well ventilated on hot days. It looks dope too.
I've been using a Synthe for the past several years which I liked. I decided to get a new helmet since my Synthe was aging and decided to upgrade to the Aether. I am glad I did as the Aether is a step up in all categories. It is the most comfortable helmet I've worn and cooler than the Synthe. I highly recommend it.
Typical giro fit, looks good, comfortable. I bought for the MIPS protection aspect. Basically a heavier version of the non mips synthe. If you want a mips helmet and giro helmets fit you, then get it.
I've been riding Giro helmets since 1998. I've always been happy with them. I tend to go to the high end helmets for the ventilation as I over heat easily. I have had Pneumo, and Atmos in the past. I ordered the same size for my new Aether and it is snug before cinching.
Upgraded from Synthe for longish (4-6 hour) road rides. I didn't like the way that the Synthe MIPS materials left imprints on my forehead for an hour and a half after my rides. This helmet doesn't do that and seems to have better ventilation too.
Bought this before a vacation to AZ. Overall great helmet. Fits very comfortably, easy to adjust both on and off the bike. It vents very well and is light. The rubber sunglass holders are great when you want to put your shades on your helmet, no more slipping down. Its speedy but great features and if the safety claims from Giro are accurate then worth it for that investment as well, hopefully never needed to test out.
This is a very comfortable helmet. Love how light it is and the safety ratings are great!
40 plus years on a bike and always a giro helmet, they are the best !
Fit is not great. It's assuming my head is spherical. Also, sunglasses are very loose in the vents. I miss my old Giro!
So far this helmet has been great, very comfortable and great looking. I have not tested it in hot weather yet but from a design perspective it looks like it will be even better than my Synthe.
The helmet fits me perfectly. There are plenty of ventilation holes that works well. Placing sunglasses in the vent holes is easy and there are rubber pads that keep them in. This is the top of the line helmet from Giro, the price shows it.
I use this helmet on my road bike training. I got the color that changes color, so it matches my Tarmac. I really like the concept in terms of hopefully not crashing, but just in case this makes sense. It fits well but I'm always in between sizes, so a small is just a bit to tight, and the medium, just a wee bit loose, but it cinches down ok. Overall I'm happy with it, and would probably buy it again.
Something I forgot in my review, do not retire that Ionos winter liner. I used it in my Synthe helmet and plan to use it in the Aether - it fits!
Unlike a previous comment, the helmet fits great and it allows me to wear my Oakleys without pushing down on my nose and it is very comfortable in a super tuck position. By the way it looks great.
Giro helmets fit my BIG head really well and the spherical technology feels better than the thin MIPS helmets (which are also nice)
Adjustability is good and great ventilation.
