I'm very loyal to there tires they are on every road bike in the garage tread life and grip are great and the roads in my island are horrible
I am very happy with these tires' durability, combined with performance. They corner extremely well, even at race speeds, and even in the rain. Being 23mm wide, the size I bought provide a minimum of rolling resistance, and they're fairly light as well, while still having the Vectran breaker belt and other layers of protection against glass, etc. I have even had these tires on singletrack for a short distance (a runwalk was taking up the bike path at that point) with no issue.
I normally get 2,000 miles out of these tires. Rolling resistance is great. An important feature is installing tires compliant with tire errors. Unfortunately, finding those arrows can be quite difficult.
The 25 is outstanding as far as puncture resistance and smooth ride
Rides very fast, stable and much more comfortable than other even other continental tires. On my 16mm inner width Ultegra and Carbon rims it measures at roughly 26.4mm at 80 PSI.
Order it to ride a fondo in Panama, the 2017 Ocean 2 Ocean, lots of hills and it was a hot day.
The extra 3mm of the 28mm installed on the rear, helped me put power more efficiently to the road and I was not as tired as I had ridden the route a few weeks before with 2525 and finished in more time, more calories consumed and much more power lost
Had a question about my order and was able to get a hold of a representative right away. They helped me with my question by going above and beyond what I expected. Delivery was fast, the items got to me before my race. I recommend this seller.
As for the tires, well tires are tires to me. I put them on my bike and I race as fast as I can go. I got these onecs based off of others reviews online. They said they were good for races without compromises of super thin tread to cause a flat, and great rolling resistance when paired with latex tubes.
These are some of the best tires I have ever ridden, I love these Continental 4000s tires!
Excellent tire, works well on the road as well as on the American River Parkway. The parkway being a lot cleaner than Sacramento city streets. Ride quality is excellent in wet and dry conditions!
On my first ride with these tires I immediately noticed the suppleness and decreased rolling resistance - these feel fast. I ride through the potholed streets of Seattle and unfortunately have averaged 1-2 flats per week minimum so far. Life is too short to ride on bad tires however, and I have found the good outweighs the bad with these.
These are great tires with a good balance of durability, suppleness, nice rolling, decent cornering, and relatively light weight. I got about 3600 miles on them before my first flat, though I did rotate back to front about half way through. Some of that was luck, I think, because it was my best no flat streak ever, even better than some Michelin Kyrlions I once had, and good a lot of flat-free miles out of. After fixing the flat, I got a several more rides on them, but noticed sharp gravel was working its way into a few nicks in the tires so I retired the set for use on my trainer set up in winter, and bought a new pair on sale. So close to 4,000 miles on those tires with only one flat, and I could have used them further in a pinch because they still had a bit of rubber left on them. On sale, these are great tires at very good value.
Looking forward to using the new set of 4000IIs soon, after the winter debris gets fully washed off the roads by spring rains. I still have my winter wheels on the bike with Continental Gatorskin Hardshells on them, which while very flat resistant, aren't as supple or as nice cornering as the 4000 IIs.
Great tires. I run these on my 3 road bikes with no isssues. Smooth and durable. Will continue to use these as long as they're available. Purchasing from this site was easy and the price was the lowest online. Thanks!
28mm GP4000sII tires have LESS rolling resistance than 25 or 23mm.
If you are like me and use lower pressures, the difference is even more dramatic.
So you get lower rolling resistance and more comfort at the same time!
The reflective sidewalls are amazing! Gone are the ugly logos and printing and in their place is a wonderful, functional, aesthetically pleasing strip of reflective material. Brilliant.
These come in 25mm as well with the reflex if you can't fit a 28 in your frame.
I put over 3,000 miles on the last Continental Grand Prix 4000S. It is easy to install and the wear indicators provide an idea of how much tread is left on the tire.
High quality, light tire, reasonable price. Wears quickly but is expected for a tire in this category.
I have learned not to ride 4000S II in NH winter because of the high likelihood of flatting on high mileage rides. Too much of a gamble. I'm OK with flatting on this tire in decent weather.
These tires have been my go to tires for years now. Super reliable during training and races. Can't go wrong with these tires.
The Conti GP is my everyday tire. Thousands of miles. Rarely a flat. And it rolls meaning its fast. Love these tires.
I've been on Continentals Grand Prix since 1995. There is no better tire for the combination of performance and puncture resistance. Love them. Racing or training, these get well over a season of miles on them (5000).
Great all around tire. Can use it on gravel and race on it. However, it's not the best gravel tire or the best race tire. 25c tire measure out to be almost 27mm on 17mm inner rim width wheel. Run with latex tubes to get lower CRR.
No complaints about this tire. It's my favorite road cycling tires. I use them on Crits, road race and circuit races.
