Another great purchase from Western! A great shop!
Use them on a race and so far this is the faster tire That I've ever had, I'm very please with them.
Hugely disappointed with these. Within a few rides of installing them I double-flatted on a road I've ridden many times before on Gator Hardshell's with no issues . Small goathead thorns punctured both tires. For the price I expected a lot more. I'm going back to tried and true GH's.
These tires are probably fantastic for many applications, but they are no match for even the smallest thorns Mother Nature can create and throw on a rural road.
Seems like a must for racing, looks great, costs too much but that's nothing new for bike equipment. Can't say anything about long term durability though because I've only put in a few hundred kms on them so far.
Improve handling and speed
Easy to change and long lasting
Marketers tell us, new and improved, but I cannot really tell the difference between the 4000 and 5000 tires, both roll fast and are susceptible to sidewall gashes. My rear Grand Prix 4000 and 5000 never wear out in the rear tire, they always gash out in the sidewall.
Been riding Continental for a long time. They just seem to get better. Never get flats, and pair them with a latex tube and sing to you.
I put Grand Prix 4000 tires on my Giant, and was very happy with the ride and handling. I thought if the 4000 tires worked so well I would go up a notch and purchased the Grand Prix 5000 tires for my newer Specialized. The tires did not disappoint the ride and handling is just as good if not a little bit better, nice tires.
Buy 4000, new GP 5000 wears way faster.
I use them for cycling. I like their durability and smooth ride.
It used to be a great tire. Not anymore. Terrible material quality. Great company but not for their GP 5000 product anymore.
I'm happy to be back on the Conti's.
These are excellent tires, but if I did not know whether I was on my older 4000s or my new 5000s I could not tell the difference.
Fast rolling, grippy tire. 4-500 miles in and no complaints.
Pump up to 100 PSI and your bike becoms the rocket.
We switched over to the 32s of this model from a light touring tire for the summer. We have a tandem that can run up to 38s but these fit the bit for nice pavement to chip seal country roads. They are much faster and corner great. They also have a nice road feel as the larger volume lets us get away with lower pressure. Wouldnt take these on dirt, but thats not what they are made for!
These are the only tires i put on our bikes! And for the price this is perfect.
Rolls great and durability.
Handling is excellent,
Puncture resistance is good.
Very aesthetic.
