Great all around tire
High mileage
Smooth ride
Great smooth, riding, sticky tires, and a great price
I have these tires on my light weight vintage road bike; they are perfect for long rides in wine country. They provide a smooth ride and great traction on fast curves. My old bike feels like a sports car!
im new to road biking, and i had commuter tires because i was afraid of flats here in Chicago suburbs but they were slow! i tried these and all i can say is WOW! what a difference. they are fast and very supple ride. the only fly in the ointment is i had to replace a tire after 200 miles, but could have been bad luck, the front is still fine
Generally regarded as the best road clincher out there. I have used the GP4K for years and now rolling on GP5K. Awesome grip, no issues with durability or flats. I was at my excellent shop and asked them what tire to use when I converted to tubeless. This was top of their list.
Tires are fast and have been relatively durable for me. Some small road hazard type of nicks after a few hundred miles. I've flatted only once thus far while riding (and was when I hit something relatively hard). Expected the tire to have damage but it took the hit. Tires look sharp and are def. a challenge to mount given the tight fit.
I use these tires for road cycling here in Indiana. These tires roll well and have a nice ride. I have about 1000 miles so far on these tires. No flats so far. I run 97psi in the front and 102psi in the back. I weigh 180lbs.
Road riding on hard surface. Have over 2,500 miles on these tires. Only two flats, one caused by me was a pinch flat, nothing in the tire, the other was a staple I ran over. Nice riding tires, good road grip, they seem quick, but I am 75 yrs old, so not so fast. The only neg, is they are hard to get on and off the carbon tubeless ready rims I use. I am not riding as tubeless.
This tire rails descents. Very impressive traction, but the jury is out on wear. It seems to get a flat spot in the center sooner than the 4000s did. I also noticed more damage to the sidewalls than I have seen on the 4000 after a short trek through gravel.
I've been riding Clement strata lgg tires and when the sale on these tires jumped up when I needed new tires I bought them. They went on easy and I could feel an improvement in comfort and I think in speed. Had them a few months now, they ride great.
Have been using Continental tires for several years. This is my first set of 5000's and they have lived up to expectations. I do a fair amount of city / road riding. No flats. No traction issues.
I get more miles from the Continental Grand Prix 5000 that any other tire that I have used. Additionally I have been using Continental Grand Prix 5000 on my Road bike and find they are flat resistant to thorns. I recommend these tires
Great road feel and reasonably good durability. However, I have Mavic Cosmic carbon UST wheels. I got sick of the tubeless silliness and went back to regular clinchers, partly because these rims are really hard to set up with anything but Mavic tires. The TL version of the GP 5000 is not compatible with these wheels (go try and find that information!) but I thought the regular version would not be an issue. It is.
Another great purchase from Western! A great shop!
Super supple tire, I went with the 32's from a 28 and lowered the pressure a tad. These ride great! I love the feel and was really happy with the ride but kept getting flats. Then a big slash in the tire. Wish I could keep riding them but went back the the 4 season 4000's in a 32 and haven't had a flat since.
I ride about 8,000 miles a year and have been tubeless on the road since 2014. I have ridden a bunch of tires and was happy to see Continental come out with a tubeless tire finally. I bought a set and have had so many punctures that I finally gave up and threw them out. Granted the punctures always sealed before all air was lost but it happened so often I was sick of getting sealant on my bike and person. I would not reccomend these tires.
I use these tires on rail to trails. Paved mostly. No issues. Tires are rated for 123 psi. I tried that, but the tires rode like they were made of solid rock. Reduced pressure to 100 psi, and it made all the difference. I have always trusted Continental. Never had problems with their tires.
Excellent durability and smooth ride
This is my third set of these tires. They wear very well, do not flat easily, and look great. I will continue to use them on my bike that does not have tubeless tires.
Love these tires! They corner well, roll smooth and I get less puncture. When not on sale, I think they're kind of pricey. But when they are on sale, I always get a pair.
