We are planning an overnight bike packing trip on the New River SP trail in VA and wanted to put a rack on our 8 yo daughter's REV 20 mountain bike. I liked the feature on this rack of being "flippable" to accommodate different size bikes, so it could be used on larger bikes as she grows.
The main support tube is attached to the seat post clamp with a slip joint secured by a shoulder bolt to prevent over tightening. The seat post clamp is sturdy and mounts securely, but the single bolt-thru connection at the main support tube is not rigid. Even the 8 yo noticed that the rack was "shaky" and can bounce vertically, so I'm surprised that Blackburn engineers couldn't see this. I can possibly fix this by drilling a second bolt hole thru the tube, but then I void the warranty. I've used Blackburn racks since 1984, but they fell short on this design. Debating whether to send back.
