SRAM's revolutionary PowerdomeX cassette gets a bit of a refresh to match SRAM's RED® eTap aesthetics. Still offering amazingly precise shifting, the XG-1190 is just as deadly silent and light as ever. The nine center cogs are machined from a single block of high-grade tool steel, for a strong, stiff, and durable cassette that weighs even less than titanium. The largest cog is made of heat-treated aluminum, with cutouts to reduce weight without compromising stiffness. In addition, StealthRing elastomer inserts sandwiched between each sprocket cut way down on vibration and noise, so the competition won't even hear it coming.
The SRAM Red22 XG-1190 PowerdomeX cassette is compatible with SRAM 11-speed shifters and chains. Claimed weight is 151 g (11-28).

You like good shifting. You like to go fast. You understand that internet lore about loud shifting on a CNC'd cassette means about as much as a bike being "vertically compliant yet horizontally stiff". You like to add lightness to your bike. Like your taste, it is refined. Like you, it is beautiful. Unlike your ex, it will never have a headache and it will never wear out.
Expensive but worth every penny. This cassette is so smooth and quiet. Shifting is incredible and accurate. Was having some challenges with my Ultegra cassette and indexing (maybe a cog was bad?) - gone once I installed this and the Red 22 chain. Got it tensioned right and lubed and now works fantastically. I hesitated because of the price, but the one piece construction of the vast majority of the cassette just makes a massive improvement in ergonomics and quietness. I have this paired with Cannondale OPI Spidering and Ultegra derailleurs - runs perfectly.
This is the lightest and quietest Freewheel cassette I have used. I own two of these. The first one has 14,000 miles on it and looks and performs like a new cassette, I bought a second one to go on a new set of wheels. It was significantly cheaper than the first one was. A much easier purchase. I use it with eTap, but I am told that it works quite well with Dura Ace or Ultegra.
I have this on my light climbing bike with one by eleven shifting. This cassette was replacing what I had before. I thought long and hard about spending this much put it was worth it. It's light and shifts great. You need all the help you can get being a super senior.
I have a few of the previous XG-1190s in various sizes and weigh them all. I was rather disappointed when the 11-28 cassette came in at 168g which is 10 more then my other two 11-28s. The new version is Identical to the old with the exception the back no longer has a 22 and the words Sram and Red switched places. Don't get me wrong it's still a great cassette as the original XG-1190, but I was under the impression there was something new and I was gonna shave a couple grams on my new build.
This is a nice piece of gear. Very lightweight, impressive to hold in your hand as you appreciate its machining. My 11-32 version shifts nicely with etap wifli. It's hard to call it a good value at its price but for weight-weenie builds it's the way to go.
