With gravel and adventure riding becoming more and more popular, a groupset designed specifically for those enthusiasts was in dire need. The GRX Front derailleur is designed to handle a larger gear range, up to 17teeth difference between rings. You will also find larger tire clearance and more cable routing options depending on how your bike is configured. Furthermore, the shifting is easier and cable tension is adjustable on the fly for on-ride tweaking.
