Surprising stability on the dirt, fast on tarmac

These came on my new Giant Revolt. When I saw them my first thought was, These wont do and I made a mental note that they would be the first change. Big surprise. The traction performance on hard pack is great, and Im not saying they are the best choice for sand and mud, but if you accidentally find yourself in a low sandy patch or get pushed to a mud puddle, you will be surprised at the traction provided by those apparently insignificant nubs on the outside of the tread pattern.

I ride mostly hard pack sandy gravel and these are perfect. On tarmac great! Quiet and easy to get to speed. If I intended to ride sand, chunky gravel or mud I would find a chunkier, slower tire. But for hard pack sandy gravel and mixed tarmac Iam really happy. Would do it again, on purpose even!

I have about 500 miles on them. Very little wear, no flats. Good tires.

Nice and cushy, but sticky too

I'm reviewing the 700x50 version of these.

I'm able to run them in the 20-25psi range pretty consistently without any fear of rim contact. They have pretty reliable grip when it's loose and are very sticky on dry pavement (to the point of folding over if you get too aggressive). That can be tiring if you have a lot of pavement to ride but it feels pretty good if things get rowdy. I'm 500 miles in with no flats or cuts so I'd say their durability is top-notch.

Okay at Best

Not very impressed with these tires. They seem to have little to no puncture protection and didn't last long. After installing the tires and about two hundred miles of mild conditions I started to suffer multiple flats from punctures. I don't have them set up for tubeless and after this experience I may not continue to use these tires. They handle well on the road fast and supple and work well on the trail, too bad they don't have adequate puncture protection.

Excellent tire selection for riding South Dakotas Mickelson Dirt Covered Rail Trail!

I mounted a 700cc x 40mm size of this tire on my Gravel Bikes rims and road this 105 mile packed dirt trail. It rained the morning of the first day, dried out the morning of the second day and was bone dry on the third day of my ride. In all conditions these tires performed beyond my expectations.

Great tire - like the Velocita with cornering confidence

I went thru 2 sets of the Maxxis Velocita which I really liked. But I found on some dirt single track that they were a little slippy in the turns, so I tried these tires. They retain the great performance of the Velocita on road and hard pack but give you some cornering confidence on softer surfaces. They aren't super aggressive so you still will feel the bike moving around a bit (which I like and is a good compromise for a fast roller on hard pack & pavement). Great tires!

Flats too easy - n not grippy

I love the road feel of this tire, but it flats too easy and it seems to skid while breaking on hard surfaces easier than other tires I've used (scary - when your trying not to get hit by a car)

Thought the tires would be slow but

So Cal

Fourth set of tires for my gravel bike and these are the best, they're fast even with low pressure, of course great on tarmac and great on hard pack gravel even good on loose, mud not so much.
