These would not stand a very cold winter but they are good enough for the pacific north west.
I also don't think they are waterproof enough but can keep you dry on a lighter rain.
Size is true to the number. I would not worry about going higher or lower than what you wear

A very good saddle but it's firm, for road racing (according to Fizik). It's well designed, with enough padding in the right places to be comfortable. It took about three rides before my sit bones adjusted. Since then I've been very happy with it.
Also, it has one has the best cover material, compared to other saddles I've had. Slightly smooth. Easy to move around and it reduces the rubbing from bike shorts compared to others that have more fabric/texture cover.

I've always used shoe covers of varying thickness and insulation with my normal summer road shoes, and at temperatures under 40f, my feet were not protected well enough. I saw these winter road shoes and thought I would give them a try. I normally wear Sidis, and the sizing between the two seems to be pretty close. I went a half a size up to make room for thicker socks, but I could probably have stuck with my normal size. My feet still get cold a bit, but never to the point where I am worried about them. I regularly ride in temps at or below 25f, and these shoes have made it a lot better.

If you wear the right shorts, this saddle is amazing. The wrong shorts and it will grip down and cause chaffing. I own primarily Giordana and the FRC shorts are perfect for this saddle, but the Silverline shorts will not work. I own more Silverline then FRC's and I enjoy both shorts and do not want to dump half of my kits for a single saddle. I would say one other slight flaw is that there is not enough cover off at the edges. Those is bigger then usual (even for a cyclist) thighs, might feel some discomfort with the edges rubbering the back of your thighs.
