I use this chain for my GRX DI2 group set. It is good quality and longevity.
I bought my chains here at different sale prices over a couple weeks. Very confusing. But the chains work well and last as well as my cleaning process of 150 miles. As others have noted an Ultegra drive train is noisier than Dura Ace but it's minor.
What can I say? In thirty years of riding and racing I have broken two chains, and both were nine or ten speed many years ago. Have not broken any 11s or 12s, and I'm no lightweight. Thankfully, Shimano finally joined the quick-link crowd so thorough cleaning and lubing is now a breeze. I typically buy one rung below top tier stuff on consumables. XT is a decent value if you catch a sale.
Super durable and high quality chain. Currently testing it with Silca Wax products and found that it is extremely suitable for this use case.
Great chain. Been using this one for years and it works like a gem.
It is the only option on Ultegra and Durace according to Shimano. They last 1500-2000 miles and at $40-$50, they are not cheap. Great chain but I wish there were more options.
Shimano on Shimano. just works
Thank the the staff there on helping me select the right compatible components for my bike.
A bike shop installed KMC chain on one of my bikes when it was in for some maintenance. Now that I have side by side comparison (w/this Ultegra chain), KMC chain is always much louder and it feels like it's dirty or something - like there's some extra friction. Mind you that I always clean & lube the chain after every ride (it's very dusty in San Diego).
I'll be replacing the KMC chain on my second bike for this Ultegra chain!
Great chain
I like the quick disconnect feature of this chain. It also is smooth and quiet.
I put a KMC on my Gravel bike and it only lasted a couple hundred miles before it was stretched out. The Shimano has held up quite a bit better.
I added this chain to my 400-500 mile rotation.....it's perfect for my road bike training....
Easy change from worn chain. Had to adjust derailleur slightly after install. Shifts quickly and quietly. The supplied Quick Link works great!
Smooth shifting, long lasting chain at a good price. I prefer not to mix brands on my drive train - Shimano cassette, crank and chain on my Di2 road bike. Likewise, I use only Sram chain, crank and cassette on my mountain bike. Compatibility insures everything works as it was engineered
Been using Shimano chains for the past 20 years. 9spd, 10spd, 11spd. They work fine. Don't last forever, but they work fine. Now it's nice, Shimano includes quick-links with their chains.
Can't comment much about chain per se. Can only comment based upon experience with present gear setup. Have 34-50 compact gear rings with 11-32 cassette. Seems chain is not very tolerant with this setup. Had to replace chain despite Park Tool measuring tool did not even indicate 0.5mm of stretch, or wear. Not chain's fault.
Always have used Shimano chains and always have great results. Smooth shifting and quiet with easy installation.
You can't beat this product for price and quality! The Shimano CN-HG701 11 speed Ultegra is easy to install, priced right and lasts for many, many miles!
Solid chain. Easy to install
