I have used the Schwalbe and Schwalbe One tires on four of my Colnago road bikes for years now and find them the best all around tire in terms of durability, ease of changing and superior road performance.
Ive been riding on these tires for years. Loved them. Have gone through 8 or 9 sets. Most recent purchase, and as others have noted, rubber is failing. Had a front where chunks of rubber came off and a rear that did the same. All at around 900-1200 miles. Something is wrong with production and will not purchase until I hear of product being improved.
These tires roll and grip quite well especially in the wet but I cannot get a set to last more than 1200 miles. This is a tire thats marketed as an all rounder e.g. GP4000 s II or Rubino G (granted this is more on the training side of all rounder i should mention that I used to get 6-7000 miles on those). I put these on some lighter weight aluminium rims I had laced to a Powertap
I picked these because I was in search of a training tires that I could race a weeknight crit on since swapping for race tubies is a pain to do. They crack and slice really easily I havent had a catastrophic failure but thanks to the topography here I pretty much will always hit 50 mph on every ride so I just cant take risks with tires that have holes in them.
Been running these for three years now along on two
high end road bikes . First set lasted almost 5k with only two flats , Replacements since only have lasted
2K before wearing out and producing regular flats .
Lots of small cuts everywhere and one sidewalk failure . They roll really well but puncture resistance and wear dont stack up against Conti GP 4000
I am a cyclist and have used Schwalbe road tires for the last 5 years. I recently bought two new tires for my bike. One tire was defective. The tread began to separate from the casing. I had only rode about 30 miles before the tire fail me. It started out as a small bubble and graduated to about two inches in Diameter look like balloon stuck to me tire.
