I am a casual trail rider and these are probably better for your grocery store runs. Two issues that stepped right up. First the seem on the wrist tends to irritate my smallish hands and the clasp. which is on the underside, is less handy if you want to loosen them while riding. I can also feel the attachment area.
I don't think they even need the clasp as they fit snugly. Maybe a larger size would have suited me better, but then I see that being sort of sloppy in the palm.
Speaking of the palm, these gloves are skimpy on the padding. Then again it probably is a case of buy on a budget, get budget padding. At least for me, the padding on the top of the palm, could have been a bit closer to the fingers.
On the okay side of things, the backside is well vented. I cut out all the tags inside which are huge. That made them fit a lot better.
Riding in the Florida heat I go through a lot of gloves. I get more mileage out of these Pearl Izumi Selects than other brands. Colors remain vibrant after many hours in the sun and machine washings. They're comfortable with just the right amount of padding where it's needed. Construction and sizing are top notch. I prefer the under the wrist closure too.
Since I do daily bike commuting, I wanted a pair of bright yellow gloves to go with my day-glo jacket for visibility on cloudy days and night riding. These gloves fit nicely and are comfortable like my blue pair of Pearl Izumi gloves. The only thing that the gloves do not have is the a fingertip hold area to help with pulling off the gloves, which I can live with.
Daily rides to work and for training rides of 50-60 miles on weekends. Love the gloves. Tried all the others but keep coming back to Pearl Izumi. Thdey are the best.
Just started using these. The padding has a different arrangement than I'm used to - I had been using 15 year old full-padded palms - so I'm getting used to that, but the padding isn't overly thick, so its not a big deal. They're comfortable to wear, well-ventilated, and the white color I chose is very bright- great for signalling. I like them.
Used for long casual bike rides.
My first pair of gloves. Nothing special about it. Minimal padding on the palms. But very cheap at under twelve dollars.
I really like jis glove, light weight, doesn't absorb moisture and gives me a good feel while riding
Great for the price. Padding is a bit thin, and though the glove fits well overall the thumb is a bit tight.
I bought these gloves because i needed an extra pair for emergencies and it was a good deal. I prefer the PI pro gel vent gloves but its hard to find a deal on those. I haven't used them much yet but they will meet the need for why they were purchased.
Not great quality but a very good quality for the price.
