A great compliment to my Giro Synthe-its a training helmet for me and is quite nice and was so well priced. Great all around training helmet.
Great Helmet at a Great Value. The helmet is light weight for long rides along with being well vented to keep you cool as the morning temps tend to heat up. I typically ride from 30 to 60 miles at a time and have no issue with weight or aero of the helmet.
The Foray is a very decent road helmet at a recreational price. Most importantly, it fits me very well - unlike some other helmets that leave a dent in my forehead. It's reasonably light - mine has an actual weight of 274 g in a medium compared to, say, 302 for my older Giro Saros (which retailed for 2x the retail price of the Foray). No summer rides yet, but the design of the vents suggests that cooling will be OK, especially through the three central channels. Probably about as good as the Saros, but not competitive with the latest and greatest high end helmets. Finally, I like the tidy, sleek shape. It's about 14 in narrower than the Saros, enough to make it look less bulky, plus the rear is smoothly curved like the new Synthe, with no pointy tail fins.
The colors are nothing fancy, but the hi-vi yellow matches my Giro shoes nicely and should provide a small margin of added safety.
Really happy with this helmet. Hard to find others under $200 with full features and no pointy tail in the back (which I think is silly and possibly dangerous-just watch videos of crash test or snow sport impacts w rear of helmet and ask yourself if you want a point sticking out anywhere on your helmet). Great to have a hi-viz option. Why not? Have had to snug the chin strap a couple times as the strap material is slightly slippery through the buckle. Hope it does its job if needed.
It fits comfortably & light.
I bought this for my wife who wanted a black alternative to her white helmets. Turns out, it's just as good as our higher end Giro helmets (and only 275gr actual weight). For the Member price, it was one of the best value cycling purchases I've ever made.
