I needed to replace my Lazer Helium, which was a nice, light helmet, but it never quite fit my head right - the arms of my sunglasses always overlapped the back of the helmet. I wasn't sure which size Aeon to get because my measurement was right on the cusp between Small and Medium. I went with the Medium and it's a good fit. I think the Small would have been fine too. So the fit is versatile, it's light and airy, the little stripes are cool, and it's super comfortable. I'm so glad my sunglasses don't bump against it either. This is a pretty perfect helmet.
This helmet looks great; keeps you cool in warm weather, and adjusts really easily.
This is my second Aeon helmet. Nothing wrong with the first one. I actually love it this got another one to match my other kits.
It is super lightweight, fits me well and straps like a charm. I always forget I am wearing one.
It looks great too. Not the love it hate it helmet. Simply amazing.
This is my 2nd Aeon Helmet. As advertised... lightweight and lots of vents. Very pleased with the Giro Aeon.
I ride about 100 miles a week. My old helmet is a Giro Pneumo helmet which I have had for several years. It was time to replace it. The Giro Aeon is a great upgrade to my old helmet. The Aeon is lighter, easier to adjust, straps are lighter and more comfortable under my chin, better fit than the old helmet, lots of cooling vents and overall provides great protection. I did look at other helmets but came back to Giro. This is my third Giro helmet and they have always performed well. Looks and feels well constructed. I believe it's an important investment in safety.
Lightweight, best helmet I have ever owned.
Having owned many Giro helmets, I bought this without much hesitation mostly because it was so much lighter than the Atmos (which I also own). This is a very comfortable helmet and secures with one-hand. Compared to other helmets I have and currently own including the Atmos and a Specialized S-Works, the Aeon vents are smaller and don't allow the same volume of fresh air flow, in my opinion. If I lived in Seattle or Portland, this wouldn't be an issue, but in Texas last weekend, it was about 99 degrees in the shade and this helmet made me feel every degree.
It is still a great helmet, but the Specialized S-Works is as light and better ventilated - but more expensive and hard to find. I will wear my Aeon when it cools off!
Extremely light, good fit, beyond excellent helmet!
This helmet is super light, very comfortable and flows more air than any I've owned in the past.
Fit on this seems to be better than older GIRO models as I've always had a Bell helmet shaped head.
The new retension system used is easy to use and keeps it in place without being uncomfortable.
Great helmet
Liking Giro helmets, this Aeon looks nicer, is lighter, and flows air to where I need it better than my old Giro. Easy, breezy, and so comfy I've forgotten it was on more than once. What more could you ask for to protect the head?
Light, good fit, good ventilation, comfortable. I like this helmet.
I am very impressed by this helmet. It is light, comfortable and looks great. Fortunately, I have not had to try it in a crash.
Will always buy Giro helmets. This was a replacement for one I crashed in. There is a spot in the back for a light to be secured (zip-tie). I got the bright orange helmet. Great for visibility.
The locking system is great, fit is perfect.
The helmet is a vast improvement from the Ionos. I've worn Giro helmets for years and this is by far the best one yet. Light. Well ventilated. Improved strength. Great fit adjustment. And hard to be beat with the sale price.
The latest retention/adjustment apparatus is a nice upgrade. The new straps are smoother against the skin. The ventilation is definitely a noticeable improvement with this design. Take it from someone who has broken a Giro helmet in 5 places while doing a header at 22mph...buy the best helmet available...save money somewhere else. This is a great helmet. And, it's available in bright orange...be seen.
This is my third Giro helmet but my first Aeon. All of their helmets fit well, but with the addition of the soft straps, the Aeon is even more comfortable. I can't speak for it's crash protection, but Giro has never done me wrong (I cracked one of the three flying over my bars and am here to write this review). It's also extremely light and has great ventilation without a lot of extra wind-noise. I've had high end Catlike and Bell helmets, too, but I definitely prefer look and feel of the Aeon.
I use the helmet for everyday training and some racing. It is very light, comfortable, and as advertised, you can forget you are wearing it. This is the best fitting helmet I have tried to date and at the sale price an excellent value.
Lightweight, does not pinch my head, lots of adjustment, huge vents, looks cool!
Down side? Large venting shows more of my balding head, better buy some head sweats!
This is my 2nd Aeon helmet, first one is still in use but needed to get a new color since I am switching teams with different colors. Easy to adjust the fit when you need to wear a hat under your helmet. Well vented and SO LIGHT I often forget it is on. Best feature, which is not even used in their advertising, is that the vents are located perfectly to be able to hold your sunglasses when doing a climb and don't want your lenses fogging up. Great helmet!
I got the Aeon for primarily fitness riding in South Florida. The summers here are unrelentingly hot and muggy. Any improvement is a godsend. The helmet is very light, very comfortable and has excellent airflow. I recommend it highly.
