For wet conditions that aren't cold enough to necessitate tights, Castelli's Nanoflex 2 Bib Short is at the top of the list. Using five-phase nanotechnology treatment, the fabric of these bib tights simply sheds water when the rain starts coming down, but when it's dry, Castelli assures that this fabric is just as breathable and warm as their benchmark Thermoflex fabric. A KISS Air seat pad provides excellent comfort with its anatomic shape and continuously variable thickness, and the shorts stay securely in place with mesh bib straps up top. Features reflective accents on the sides and back to increase visibility.

Note: Castelli tops and bottoms are designed with a performance cut that often runs smaller than that of other manufacturers. Consider sizing-up one size to ensure a comfortable fit — e.g., if you normally wear a Medium, select a Large in Castelli. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.

Warm comfy bibs for the Harsh California Bay Area Winters
by Troy

These shorts have thicker material suitable for riding in the harsh California Bay Area Winters, A.K.A no snow and temps from 40 - 60 degrees F when used with arm & leg warmers. The sizing runs smaller than other American brands like Pearl Izumi and Performance. Very comfortable on winter rides of 35-50 miles, which is about as long as I wanna be out in the cold. Haven't had them long enough for any noticeable signs of wear. The KISS padding fits my butt well and is comfortable. I ride about 10k milesyear and around 1Megafoot of climbing annually. Just an active social club rider, not a racer.

Comfortable chamois, warm enough for 40-50f rides, runs a bit longer down the thigh like other castelli shorts but that helps keep the leg warmers in place.

Wears too fast.

I was elated when I first wore these shorts. Fit was great, warm and new pad is great. BUT! I was only able to wear them twice. Was going to wear them again this morning but found and felt a very wear hole start to develop. Since I hate chaffing I dont want to wear again. Hoping for a warranty exchange.

Super duper deal-great product!

I love these. Great for winter, chilly fall and chilly spring rides.

In the rain they are good too. Not water proof-but when it rains a little water beads up on the surface.

They have a long cut and excellent grippers which are ideal to wear with leg warmers.

Significant Improvement on the Original!

I have used the first version of the Nanoflex bibshorts for a few years now, and was always impressed with their versatility. When you want a bit of extra comfort or a layer thicker than see-through spandex, these are a perfect go-to choice. Adding on to the impressive performance of the original, the Nanoflex 2 has an updated bib cut and material, and more subdued graphics in addition to the KISS Air chamois which is as comfortable as they come. A great spring and fall choice for the Northwest, which can be extended into the winter with use of Nanoflex knee or leg warmers as well.

Best rain short EVER!
by HC Biker

I was skeptical when I first got these, how can a cool weather lycra short be truly water proof, but one ride in the seattle rain convinced me. Water runs off like water on a duck keeping me dry, warm and regulated. Best springtime riding shorts I've ever had.

Improved version

Nanoflex 2 has all the great qualities as the previous versions with the exception of improved lettering process that doesn't appear will peel off. Sizing consistent with other Castelli bibshorts. Water resistant, not water proof.
