Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ’s:
Q: How do I know you are going to send me the correct size bike?
A: The TriSports.com fit staff are FIST or Serrotta certified (or both), and because the owner of our company has both a BS and MS in Engineering, we have been able to use his skills to extrapolate an extraordinary amount of information from the plethora of fits we have done through our retail operation. This data has been used to create complex mathematical equations that ensure our fits are accurate over 90% of the time and within a tolerance of about 8% without ever seeing the customer. There aren’t a lot of companies that can compete with this statistic.

Q: Do I need to get my bike fit once it arrives?
A: While we do guarantee the bike we send you will be the correct size and within the parameters stated above, you may still need to get a fit to do the final adjustments. In fact, your body is always changing and adapting so the fit process is always dynamic. What works for you at the peak of your season may not work for you at the beginning of the season.

Q: Do I need to take my bike to a shop for a 30-day tune-up?
A: Possibly. A 30-day tune-up is recommended by bike shops to fine tune the bike once it has had some time in the elements (cables stretch, bolts need checked, etc.). It has been our experience, however, that our local customers don’t come back for their “30-day” tune-up for several months.

Q: Do you sell complete bikes, framesets or custom builds?
A: We do all three of these. Complete bikes are spec’d by the manufacuter and we are more than happy to make part changes at your request. If your wish list deviates too much from the manufacturer's specs, then it would be more economical to go with our custom build option. This option will allow you to select a frameset and pick from a wide array of parts and can be built up just the way you want your dream bike to turn out.
