Just what I've been looking for

I'm a firm believer in the practicality and economics of self coaching. Having a background in Sports Medicine, I fumble through ok. This book is exactly what I needed to put my knowledge to practical use getting my workouts to maximize my potential. I'm so sad that I didn't buy it years ago. Well worth the price. Love the journal for personal accountability.

Advance Your Training

The book goes through basic physiology and follows with exercise protocols that help you find and improve your weaknesses. My favorite piece is the book differentiates athlete characteristics and then teaches you how to improve each one. In the back are workouts for every scenario and you can periodize your training properly for the distance you are training for.

Sections on physiology, training, and exercise protocols Allows athletes looking to compete at a high level to personally understand their bodies
Cons:
Not a light read/beginners book
