Stability shoes are shoes with cushioning features in high strike areas (heel and forefoot), but more substantial supportive features in the midfoot area. These shoes are designed for the runner with a medium to flat arch with mild to moderate overpronation (rolling of the ankle and collapsing of the arch inward excessively). There are different levels of stability as well as different support philosophies that vary between shoe companies.
