product description
The Speedfil A2 Hydration system works with any Specialized thread compatible water bottle in both 21 and 24 ounce sizes. The wind tunnel developed A2 model is designed to be used with triathlon/TT aerobars. The A2 achieves its superior aerodynamics by it's key location within the riders cockpit. The athlete's arms shield the device, thus becoming invisible to the wind. The patent pending Zerosplash technology virtually eliminates fluid splashing so wet and sticky handlebars are a thing of the past. The design allows for rapid refilling on the fly, hands free drinking and easy cleaning.

Due to the large variation of aerobar styles, sizes and individual bike cockpit configurations the mounting hardware is not included at this time. There are several mounting options currently on the market. Each rider will need to decide which type will work best for their individual set up. Our photos show just a few of these options.

Features:
  • Aerodynamic/ Low Profile
  • Zerosplash No splashing on handlebars
  • Works with any Specialized thread compatible bottle (21 & 24 oz. sizes)
  • Hands free drinking
  • Easy to clean
  • Multiple mounting options

Best Hydration System I have used.
    September 16, 2014
I used Profile Design AeroDrink products for a couple of years. The biggest issues I had was the gradual leaking of sticky carbo drinks as you went over bumps, and occasionally the bottles would come lose over larger bumps. I thought I upgraded going to the TorHans Aero 30, as the lid was supposed to be a better design to prevent leakage. Unfortunately it wasn't, which lead me to the Speedfil A2. The lid on this does create a positive seal, so very little spillage occurs. The only time I get any fluids on me, is either in the refilling stage (if I get in a hurry and spill) or if I don't squeeze the bite valve to let a little air into my straw (if you go over bumps with a full straw a little fluid leaks out). I have had the bottle rotate a little in the cage while riding, but a little double sided tape on the cage takes care of this. I also use the standard Garmin flexible rubber bands to simply add a Garmin mount on the narrow part of the bottle, so my Garmin 500 ends up sitting out of the wind right behind the bottle cap. I liked the positive seal of the bottle cap so much, I bought a second one so I could use the cap on my Standard Speedfil frame mounted system, for IM length races… again, no spillage.
    Pros:
No leaks! Tucks in between your arms nicely.

    Good Bottle

Overall it is a great between-the-aero-bars bottle. Straw is a nice combination of flexible, but stiff enough to work well. Opening makes it easy to refill while on the fly and not splash water out. My only hesitation is that I am surprised the bottle was designed so that the hole for the straw is below the fill line of the water. I have not had leaks here after 3 or 4 training rides and 2 races, but it seems that there is a potential for leaks if the straw is in a strange position.
    Pros:
    Easy To Use
    Cons:
    Potential For Leak
    Best Uses:
    Endurance Training, Racing

    easy transition to speedfill
    September 12, 2012
I switched from the Profile Design aero drink hydration set-up to the Speedfill set-up for 70.3 World's this wknd. I've always used a front mount hydration system, so this was not a big change for me (remember: not a good idea to make switches right before a race). It worked out perfect! Positives: 1. the Zerosplash technology: the area you refill the bottle has a "convertible top" of sorts. It stays closed to avoid liquid splashing on your computer/nutrition and easily opens when you're ready to refill. 2. wicked aero position!! 3. Multiple set-up variations to fit your front end. My BMC Time Machine integrated front fork does not allow use of a Bento Box. My alternative: I needed to secure the Speedfill bottle to the aerobars, so I strapped my mesh AeroHammock sling underneath it and managed to stay low profile. 4. Easy to clean (just like any other water bottle)- don't have to deal with the mesh. Negatives: 1. My straw fell to the side a number of times and I had to readjust it. (easy to fix this issue...this was my first ride with it) LOVED IT!!
