When Shimano Dura-Ace 7900 entered the market there was a monster gap in performance from Shimano's second tier groupset, the workhorse, Ultegra. Many of the notable features of Dura Ace 7900 have trickled down but the most notable is Ultegra 6700 STI levers now route the cables so that they can be hidden underneath the bar. Thank you Shimano, thank for you not letting another morsel of time past with extra wires hanging from our bikes. But of course this isn't it. It has a composite brake and shifter lever, allows for the reach to be adjusted, and the ergonomics have greatly improved over its predecessor.
