Shimano's Dura Ace 7900 brake calipers offer superior braking power and many of its new features are easily missed to the passerby. First, Shimano redesigned the arches of the caliper to improve braking power and modulation. Second, the cable stop is lowered reducing cable drag and improving how the cable is routed. Thirdly, the barrel adjuster is bigger making it easier for on-the-fly adjustment. Fourth, the stock brake pads provide double the braking power in wet conditions and greatly improves it in dry conditions. Lastly, the entire brake has been machined down to perfection giving it a beautiful, sexy look. Shimano even added chrome where the shoe bolts meets the caliper arm, which is a nice, classic touch.
