3rd Place Winner - Ryan Lynn Voted "Best Kids Photo" Ryan Lynn (age 2) of Tucson, AZ displays his TriSports.com team spirit! An up and coming triathlete, he enjoys swimming (with floaties), biking on his semi-custom aluminum tricycle (do they make Zipp wheels for trikes?), and runs (to chase and squish bugs). Post-workout, he carbo-loads with Starbucks chocolate chip cookies, popsicles and spends the rest of his energy tormenting his sisters. |
Runners Up Best Triathlon Photo: Titled "Winner from the Start", Barry Sheckley took this photo of Heidi De Costa (red cap/blue suit in front) at the Madison Mile Ocean Swim. The "mile" swim is actually longer than a mile, but Heidi was determined to win. She ended up taking first in the women’s masters division (time: 22:18). The picture also captures the intensity, focus, and commitment of the swimmers as they embark on the challenge of swimming a mile in the cool 65 degree waters of Long Island in June.
____________________________________________ "Speed Kills", Mike Funk sent in this picture of his buddy Mac at the Camp Pendleton Devil Dog Duathlon. Mac was leading the race at this point and came in second overall. The sign in the back says it all!
________________________________ Runners Up for Most Inspiring Photo: Richard Garrison submitted this photo of his wife Donna after the IM Florida. The mother of 5 and grandmother of 3 was leading her 55-59 age group when at the 108 mile mark of the bike she was hit by a car pulling out of a side parking lot. Her bike was broken in two. After being checked out by medics, she asked to be allowed to continue. She walked the last 4 miles of the bike course carrying her bike, then headed out and ran the fastest marathon in her age group and ended up finishing 4th. She received 17 stitches in her knee and accepted her 4th place medal on stage the next day on crutches.
____________________________________________ Submitted by Heidi Kirby of Novato, CA, this photo is of her brotherJeremy Dunnill competing in his first London triathlon. _______________________________ Most Humorous Photos:
Submitted by Erica Flickinger, this is a photo of Dave Sheckler as he desperately tries to keep up with his son, Trisports.com sponsored athlete Craig Sheckler. Dave and Erica attend all of Craig's races, and are always out on the course trying to catch Craig as much as possible. Lucky for Dave, he picked up some gear so he no longer has to chase Craig around on foot.

Anne Drier of Phoenix turned around to say "hello" to fellow triathlete Thomas Taylor at the Soma Triathlon in Tempe, AZ but she quickly turned back in embarassment when she saw his hands in a very conspicuous spot.
____________________________________________ Thomas Welsh of San Antonio, TX sent in this photo of his first triathlon, the Texas State Olympic Triathlon. He says "I’m the big ol’ boy without a wetsuit" and he was one of the very few who endured the water temp of 55 degrees without one. The look on the competitors faces say it all.
