The Karhu Women’s M1 Running Shoe utilizes unique technology to allow the foot to go through its natural biomechanical motion. The Karhu M1 provides Karhu’s version of stability with an integrated Wishbone Carbon Plate to minimize overpronation. This shoe is recommended for runners who need some degree of support, or mild to moderate overpronation. Due to its lightweight nature, this shoe is not designed for moderate to severe overpronators, or heavier runners.

Innovative Karhu ACS (Anatomical Controlling System) Shoe Technology

Hourglass Cushioning Pod: Produced of proprietary Karhu EVA, the real science behind these shoes is in their unique shape. The cushioning pod was designed to resist the concave forces of forefoot impact by distributing the primary cushioning effect under the sensitive, forward extensions of medial and lateral metatarsal bones. The result, a perfect balance of cushioning and responsiveness.

KarEVA midsole: Proprietary EVA blend engineered for protective cushioning and maximum resilience.

Wishbone Carbon Plate: The marquee technology of Karhu stability shoes, this carbon fiber plate works much like the keel of a sailboat, providing torsional stability to resist moderate medial or lateral motion during the foot’s impact and rolling phase. The horizontal arrangement of the plate within the midsole provides corrective stability without inhibiting the foot’s natural biomechanical efficiencies.

Movement Control Wedge: A direct descendent of Karhu Fulcrum technology, the Movement Control Wedge is engineered by both it’s durometer and slope to spread the impact load throughout the heel area without interrupting the running stride. By directing the foot towards the Fulcrum point of the midsole, you achieve an accelerated “rolling effect”, creating a more efficient stride.

Arch Bridge: Molded TPU component providing reinforcement under the foot’s most flexible anatomical structure.
