Karhu Running shoes are built on this philosophy and the concept of natural momentum. First tested on the great Finnish runners Paavo Nurmi and Olavi Suomalainen, natural momentum is achieved with the incorporation of Karhu’s patented Fulcrum Technology. Karhu shoes are built with a Fulcrum that allows the foot to transition through it’s natural motion, providing an exceptional ride through the three phases of the gait cycle, as well as reducing wasted vertical forces while minimizing contact time of the heel on the ground. The foot does the work. The shoe is just along for the ride.

Karhu Running Shoes are equipped with Four types of Fulcrum technologies:

  • Racer Fulcrum Ride: Karhu’s racing fleet is equipped with this one. Thinner and lightweight, as well as neutral, this Fulcrum is the definition of speed.

  • Fast Fulcrum Ride: This is the classic neutral fulcrum for faster training with less effort.

  • Fluid Fulcrum Ride: A nice twist on the classic neutral fulcrum with a touch more volume and lower to the ground for more torsional support.

  • Strong and Stable Fulcrum Ride: A new support fulcrum with an additional carbon for Hytrel midfoot plate for superior stability.
